I will never understand the affinity NFL coaches have for the fade pass into the endzone. Sometimes it looks like it's the only pass play they know how to call in goal-to-go.

Booger really is terrible, isn't he? I'm kinda intoxicated and I've got better insight.
I’d rather Dennis Miller and Tony K with no pbp guy. I’m a broken record on this topic. MNF should be a jewel ESPN polishes and instead they cover it with shit.

The penalty for kicking the ball out of bounds on a kickoff seems overly punitive, especially if it rolls out of bounds at the one-yard line (essentially a 39-yard penalty). But, you can have a punt go out of bounds with no penalty whatsoever. Seems to be inconsistent.

What am I missing because there must be a reason for this.

It’s easier to kick it OOB accurately from a tee, there would be guys pinning kickoffs inside the 15 all the time.

How did Booger even get this job? I feel like I didn't hear anything from him for a decade after he retired, then he was the weird dude on the MNF sideline who would fly around in some little chair or something, then all of a sudden he's the MNF color commentator? He's so bad at this.

I feel like Tedy Bruschi would be incredible in this role.

Rodgers continues to make the mistake of hitting his receivers in the hands with his passes.

Why aren't 12 men on the field penalties called when a guy on the defense is scrambling to get off the field before the snap? How would that be any different than the Lions guy running off the field before the FG there, but a flag was thrown because the offense was in formation?

That too many men on the field mistake on 4th down is completely unconscionable.

Third TD pass on one drive for Rodgers. Might be more even more impressive than Mahomes throwing for 116 yards on one drive yesterday...

Yeah, Bakhtiari did so much on that TD play, Booger, tumbling on his butt.

That makes sense; I would like it if the same penalty (with a lesser yards) was enforced for punts going out of bounds.

People would just let it bounce, it is not a live ball. I think you are offering solutions to something that is not a real problem.

Damn, that was brutal. Hope Allison is ok. Nothing the defender could do there, IMO, he was playing the ball. Just horrible timing for both.

Doesn't the defender have some entitlement to go after a ball like that? I get that there was contact, but the CB was there first and wasn't intending to initiate any contact with the receiver.

It was obvious live that the defender was going for the ball and not the WR. Just a terrible call 100% in response to a guy getting hurt.

I don't understand NFL catch rules anymore, but in my book that's not a catch.

edit: I'm still shocked that they overturned that one, based on what has happened on reviews this season.

He was outside of the pocket and the throw went past the line of scrimmage.
Sorry, just getting back to this. It’s not the “pocket” but the tackle position. Though maybe these are synonyms generally. He was on the run but in the tackle position to me. He took like two steps.

Did ESPN's ref expert in booth just contradict himself?

Said it was good catch before commercial, then good reversal after.
