Was just thinking the same thing.Moore definitely broke the rule and earned the flag. That said, what a stupid rule.
You can't take off your helmet. The rule is pretty clear on that one.My point about the NFL being absurdly over regulated stands. I love how there are certain ways one can celebrate a TD, and if not, a flag. What a league.
I know it’s the rule. I’m just saying that the NFL has a hundred utterly silly rules. You can't take off your helmet. The rule is pretty clear on that one.
They don't want players taking their helmets off and using them as weapons.I know it’s the rule. I’m just saying that the NFL has a hundred utterly silly rules.
bro, only game with teams with winning records playing each other and Marky S. providing color. What more could you want.Giants Seahawks? Wtf WFXT
Sure. But they could enforce a rule that you can’t use the helmet as a weapon. It’s just funny that 20 guys can run to the end zone and mug for the camera, but a dude taking his helmet off is a personal foul. They don't want players taking their helmets off and using them as weapons.
Maybe the NFL has dumb rules. The helmet rule isn't one of them.
It's the only game TODAY with two teams with winning records. Think about that.Giants Seahawks? Wtf WFXT
Something without Sanchize for startersbro, only game with teams with winning records playing each other and Marky S. providing color. What more could you want.
How much must their fans hate Rhule and Baker? (And maybe their players as well)Carolina is going to be in first place and this is wonderful.
Chaos.
Brady winning SB after going 7-10 is going to be amazingThe entire NFC South is about to be deadlocked at 3-5
That would be like when the Cards won the 2006 WS in the year they won 83 games. Like, "yeah, we suck, but we've been here before."Brady winning SB after going 7-10 is going to be amazing
he lost the kicking competition to Greg the legEddie P.
You can walk home tonight.
It always baffles me that teams don't try to improve their position.I guess the odds must say play conservative in that spot but I never understand why not go for the touchdown. Give yourself two chances to win.

I think you have to know your kicker. If it's a guy like Tucker, Folk, Gano, Gould, McPherson, et al*, you're justified playing it conservatively. If he's a journeyman like Pinero, you should certainly not just count on him.I guess the odds must say play conservative in that spot but I never understand why not go for the touchdown. If anybody could do it, it would be Tom. But holy shit do they need to get some healthy bodies back for that to be possible. Team is a walking medevac.Brady winning SB after going 7-10 is going to be amazing
Originally yes.So Moore’s dumb penalty cost the Panthers the game. Fantastic catch to even tie it but then the penalty.
It was a 48 yarder.Especially after your kicker just missed the go ahead PAT.
I think the PAT would have been good without the penalty. Maybe not. With the PAT, no OT and no additional kicks.Originally yes.
But the villain is Pinero. He missed two kicks, both of them not long. Took Moore off the hook.
The FG he missed in OT was essentially as long as a normal extra point, and he missed that. A 48 yard FG/extra point is not a chip shot, but these days it's considered a pretty makable kick.I think the PAT would have been good without the penalty. Maybe not. Ok, but if he makes the PAT, there isn’t a need for the FG in OT. And the PAT curled left just before the post so I think it’s good if he’s 15 yards closer. Not that it matters at this point. The FG he missed in OT was essentially as long as a normal extra point, and he missed that.
They both can share the blame. But Moore has the great TD catch that gave them the tie game, and Pinero only has those two missed kicks, so he will take more of the heat.Ok, but if he makes the PAT, there isn’t a need for the FG in OT. The touchdown was amazing to even get them there. I just don’t get taking the penalty to make it harder on your kicker. Like why even make it harder? Seems like a dumb move to me and I think the Pinero hits from the normal distance. They both can share the blame. I don't think Moore even gave a thought to getting a penalty there. It was just a stupid move in the moment. The touchdown was amazing to even get them there. It looked deliberate to me. It’s not like his helmet was lose. He intentionally unsnapped it and removed it. I think he knew the team would be penalized and didn’t care. The players know that’s a penalty. I think he thought his kicker would make the PAT either way so he didn’t care about adding the extra distance.I don't think Moore even gave a thought to getting a penalty there. At some point, all those injuries take a tollSo the Niners defense went from best in the league to non exstent in 2 weeks
