It has been sold out, of tickets at least, for 2 weeks. Whether they have sold all the seats or not, I don't know. This game is not sold out. Lots of open seats in upper decks. Unreal.
I'm rooting for Arizona because they swept the Dodgers in both of their final two series, because the Greinke against LAD story line is interesting, and because Robbie Ray had 53 Ks in 5 starts against the Dodgers.Anyone have a compelling case for which team I should root for tonight?.
Even the managers, Lovullo and Black, are good guys, good managers.Anyone have a compelling case for which team I should root for tonight?
Neither team seems hateable to me. Best cases I can come up with is "Go D-Backs, because they once beat the Yankees in the World Series", or "Go Rockies, because 'Sox and Rocks' seems nice enough".
So...not much of a Dodgers fan, huh?I'm rooting for Arizona because they swept the Dodgers in both of their final two series, because the Greinke against LAD story line is interesting, and because Robbie Ray had 53 Ks in 5 starts against the Dodgers.
Actually I should have clarified, I don't really have a preference among the NL teams, I just think that would make for better theater.So...not much of a Dodgers fan, huh?
Re. the bolded, I have completely lost track of which teams Greinke has been on.I'm rooting for Arizona because they swept the Dodgers in both of their final two series, because the Greinke against LAD story line is interesting, and because Robbie Ray had 53 Ks in 5 starts against the Dodgers.
Nothing against Black at all, but Lovullo is a pretty solid reason to lean D-Backs.Even the managers, Lovullo and Black, are good guys, good managers.
Same thing happened when the Rocks and Dbacks played in the 07 NLCS. It's patheticThis game is not sold out. Lots of open seats in upper decks. Unreal.
Except home team doing the jumping on first.Unoriginal script, we saw this last night
Huh?Same thing happened when the Sox and Dbacks played in the 07 NLCS. It's pathetic
Well, the LAD story line is particularly interesting because he had one of the best seasons ever for LAD in 2015 (19-3 with a 1.66 ERA), and everyone expected the deep pockets Dodgers to re-sign him, but then the Diamondbacks came out of nowhere and gave him a deal that was too rich even for the Dodgers, 6/206, this is year 2 of that.Re. the bolded, I have completely lost track of which teams Greinke has been on.
I don't know why I'm defending the D-Backs, but they reduced seating capacity so that they don't sell the seats that are empty any more. They haven't decided what to do with the space -- they want to do something like what the Rockies did when they reduced seating and added their party plaza. But it hasn't been decided yet. The capacity, even without the seats up there being sold, is still 48,000 and they sold out this game in 2 hours.Same thing happened when the Sox and Dbacks played in the 07 NLCS. It's pathetic
Greinke has a career .263 batting average in postseason playGray just needs to tell himself: "Just two more batters until Greinke."
On the other hand, if your pitcher is throwing 30 pitches in the first inning...espn: Before the game, Colorado manager Bud Black says that even in a short-leash game such as the wild-card contest, you can't draw any conclusions until at least 30 pitches or so.
Yes, if I had the chance to pick the next Red Sox manager, I'd pick Lovullo. Not being entitled or anything, but if Lovullo or his wife couldn't take the hot, dry air or something, you know.Nothing against Black at all, but Lovullo is a pretty solid reason to lean D-Backs.
Not an answer, but I'd love to see whoever wins go far just to see Blackmon/Arrenado or Goldschmidt/Martinez, plus several other big hitters, in big stage/bright lights situations in "normal" ballparks. But, not sure COL has the pitching to go far however, if they win tonight.Anyone have a compelling case for which team I should root for tonight?

Explains why the catcher got pitches to hit, I guess.Greinke has a career .263 batting average in postseason play
Not always, but definitely this year. The second wild card rewards mediocrity.
Guessing that whole group are Dback employees, those are obviously temp folding seatsWould it kill them to focus a bit more on the blonde behind home plate?
