He didn't rule forward progress, he ruled the runner was down before the fumble. That's why he was pointing at the ground.

Looks like the Titans defense is on its game now. The offense on the other hand...

No. He said forward progress which is why it couldn’t be challenged.

The idea that even if forward progress were possible there, that the whistle was blown and the call made in the split second between initial contact and the ball coming loose is ludicrous,

I understand what he said, that's just not what he indicated on the field. Pointing at the ground is an established NFL signal. Making it up as he goes.

Yes, but then the NFL said that explanation was right. And that’s why they couldn’t review.

And these are the All-star refs.
Well...sort of. there are 16 crews, 10 get playoff berths (Super Bowl crew also works divisional round). Wild Card would be the worst 4 of the 10, so these officials graded out somewhere between the 38th and 62nd percentile.

No Riverron said that GA was correct in saying it couldn't be reviewed, because Triplette indicated forward progress. He didn't opine on the correctness of the ruling itself.

Somebody needs to knock that loaf of bread out of Tyreek Hill's hand when he's cutting back across the field and getting hit from behind.
