After all the miraculous stretches we've seen from Pearce and the excellent play from Moreland, you want JDM trying to catch throws from Devers or Nunez?
I dunno. JDM doesn't strike me as a particularly worse athlete than Pearce or Moreland, and I don't really think it's harder to catch a throw from a teammate, than a line drive from a MLB hitter.
I was hoping we'd have a chance to see all 4 teams play on the same day (and wondering if that's ever happened?). There was a good chance this year, but it didn't line up. Celtics don't play on a Sunday until 11/11 and even though the Pats have a Monday night game in the mix, the other teams aren't playing that day. We will get the Sox, B's and C's on Saturday the 27th though.
I don't get the elegaic tone we're all taking here. Pedroia had a 5.8 bWAR/4.9 fWAR season as recently as 2016, and another season almost as good in 2014. It's true, his knees limited him a lot in 2015, last season and this season, but he's been great in his recent healthy seasons, and better than average in his injured ones.
I think you want Swihart in the NL park even more than you wanted him in the first two rounds.
Try planning a Red Sox based trip to Boston in 2004 with Nomah fah and away your favorite player only to see him traded just before you get there. On the plus side I did get to see Pedro’s last Fenway regular start against the Yankees and I told all who would listen that the Red Sox would win it all finally ( to much amusement - remember those days ?). I was in Boston again in 2008 for ironically enough the ASTRO conference and one more time in 2013. I got to see 5 games in 04 and 08 but none in 13. However I have a 100% record in that each time I have been to Boston the Red Sox went on to win the world Series or were defending champions
I'm not saying he can't come back, I was just responding to someone who said it felt weird Laser Show wasn't out there. For me, it hasn't felt weird at all, it's been two years since he's been a key part of the team, which is actually a very long time.
