Don't like the man, but ARod's speaking voice and analysis is a light year beyond HR. Low bar, I know...
Well, he's a miserable unlikable cheating douchebag but he's not an idiot.

The high note for the Mets, the extra rest seems to have done DeGrom well - he's absolutely on tonight, the control (especially on some of those breaking pitches) has been great

for the second in as many nights, this guy across from me is seemingly not leaving the office until i leave. and for the past twenty minutes, he's been standing basically right above me while texting. it's creeping me the fuck out.

I don't know. All that natural talent and he had to go the roid route? He is pretty good as a side commentator though.
That's judgement and arrogance though, not intelligence.  He is smart.

Left field, now center field- another important fielding position. Who knew?

You can't fault the decision-making (Lagares was hitting poorly most of the year, dealing with arm injuries that killed his arm), but I think having Lagares sit & only really play 8th/9th innings as a defensive sub have impacted his defense a bit. Not really surprising as he's not really that fast, he just gets great jumps, reads, and paths to the ball, so those are going to be tough to keep top-notch when you're not getting as many reps as usual

Are you sure he is texting and not posting here?

Yeah - I enjoy ARod too. Insightful, can form sentences, and doesn't talk too much. That's about all I want in a commentator.

Now, I feel dirty.

Is it me or does Erin Andrews voice grate a little bit?  Maybe just because she's grouped with Harold Reynolds and Joe Buck, but yeah.

She almost sounds like a valley girl with the way she enunciates some words

Dude is a true baseball nerd. Loves and knows the game, and speaks intelligently and passionately about it. He's good in the studio. Which makes his PED use all the more baffling.
