You'd think Liverpool would be one of those big boys, given their reputed (and declined) offer, but maybe Dortmund really want to build a US following. I mean, half the value of Fox Sports' bid for the Bundesliga rights is probably the ability to show Pulisic on a weekly basis, and compete with the EPL on NBC. It wouldn't be the worst business decision for BVB to keep him, absent a near-record-breaking offer. A small club couldn't make enough money off of Pulisic to justify turning down a fair (or even a good) offer, but BVB is good enough and big enough to use him to attract a following and see him as a profit center.
I mean, look at me. I basically religious watch his games, and the entire time it's like I've got the Ron Paul "it's haaaaappening!" GIF playing in the background. If he weren't on the team, I'd pretty much just root for them against Bayern, and would certainly root for Hamburg, Hertha and the other teams with americans on them over Dortmund. Instead, Dortmund's games are appointment viewing, I'm considering getting some merch... and I'm, like, at best the 30th-biggest footie fan on this site. Quintanariffic is probably still cleaning up his splooge from the goal at 57' today.
