Make it 4.Day follows his double with three straight birdies.
+1.The cut line is really hovering, but with the easy finishing hole, I think it's going to end up at -1.
My soul, Al. My soul.Rory hits a fairway wood,
Nantz: "I think he likes it."
In the trap.
Objection - facts not yet in evidence. This has been the most entertaining major of the year by a mile.
I was referring to the first two days. It was legitimately fun watching yesterday. The other three tourney's didn't have the players or the action. They were kind of boring, especially The Masters. The US Open was close.Objection - facts not yet in evidence.
I mean, that might yet prove to be the case, but how you can make that assertion on a Friday afternoon is beyond me.
I know it's fashionable to hate Nantz, but I think he's fine hosting golf. Why does he fuck with your soul so much?TNT was so much better from an announcing standpoint than anything with Nantz attached to it.
The sound of his voice and his overwrought style grate on me intensely. I've hated Nantz for decades, so I'm not trying to be fashionable. And, for some reason, I don't mind Bob Costas or Joe Buck, so this is Nantz specific. But Nantz is just brutal.I know it's fashionable to hate Nantz, but I think he's fine hosting golf. Believe me, I'm not accusing you of being fashionable. It just seems like everyone here hates Nantz. Except for me, I guess. I barely even notice that he's there. The sound of his voice and his overwrought style grate on me intensely. I've hated Nantz for decades, so I'm not trying to be fashionable. I did think the TNT guys this week were universally excellent. That was some solid work by the TNT crew. If Nantz was traded for David Feherty, it would be a huge win for me. In my opinion, golf commentators are generally excellent--better than any collective group in any other sport. Except for Peter Jacobson.
But they play different roles. Someone has to be the vanilla guy who guides the broadcast, like Dan Hicks or Mike Tirico, Ernie Johnson, or even Whit Watson. Personally, I think Hicks does a great job of it.I did think the TNT guys this week were universally excellent. That was some solid work by the TNT crew. It does. When is the USGA going to buck up and start putting roofs over these courses so delays like this can be avoided?this sucks
Torrey Pines. If only they had golf courses in Southern California.
I played Others once. The bunkering was breathtakingTorrey Pines.
And others.
I suspect they'll change that decision if there are weather delays early tomorrow and it's clear the final round won't be finished until Monday. The latter, of course, is what happened the last time the PGA was at Baltusrol...No re-pairing after the 3rd round. Which is time effective but weird.
They began rolling out foursomes for the final round almost immediately after the leaders teed off for their third round, so they are committed to their plans regardless of the weather today.I suspect they'll change that decision if there are weather delays early tomorrow and it's clear the final round won't be finished until Monday.
