The Jets just made the Jets-iest pick ever. Not the selection himself, but the way it happened. They had a video feed for a kid in a hospital to make the pick, but the video screen he was on was buffering, so they just gave up on him and some dude made the pick instead.

Ummmm. Lauletta gets compared to Drew Stanton. Possibly one of the worst QBs I've ever seen play against the Pats.

Disagree. I liked Lauletta, you liked Lauletta, but clearly B.B./Josh did not. They had ample chances to take him. Some day you can question the evaluation, but you can’t question the draft strategy.
Apart from the fact that you’re talking about shots in the dark and developmental guys, they don’t have the roster spots.

While I’m just making shit up like everyone else, I think you can be highly confident Laulrtta isn’t the top QB on the Pats’ current board...or if he is, It ain’t by much.
I don’t get why people just want to draft a body for the sake of putting a name against a slot on a depth chart. Who cares if the guy can’t actually play?
What’s really important is putting the name of some rookie as #3 on the DE depth chart and then reading a 2 paragraph write up about his strengths and potential as an NFL player to make yourself feel good about next season.

Kyle Lauletta should be just fine to keep the #Giants in QB purgatory at 8-8, 9-7 when Eli is done and they are trying to draft a future starter high in the draft. Keep them stuck right in the teens

I'm no draft expert, but it seems to me that drafting is as much art as science. The needs on D seem obvious and to collect very marginal chips cashable in rounds 6 and 7 rather than take a chance at 43/51/63 to strengthen the D, because the guy available at 43/51 you had rated as 55, seems way too exacting for this activity.

My take away from this draft is that BB and I are rooting real hard for the Bears to suck this year.

And my takeaway from this draft is we should never buy the “this is a deeeep draft” advertising again. It may be generally accurate; it’s as a practical matter inapplicable to us.
