I got a kick out of the New Kids on the Block in their Sox hats on ABC singing New York, New York.
It’s hard to say, my guess all along has been 10/280 but people seem to be thinking more towards 7/250. To me the AAV would seem to be much more important for NY than the length, but they seem to be signaling the reverse, so I guess we’ll see.Thoughts on my estimate on what NY will give him? 8 year/28 mil - maybe a vesting 9th year?
will it take 8/30? Can't imagine NY giving him 9 or 10 based on what they've said thru the grapevine.
I think they always wanted him as a 4th OF, either behind Stanton or Clint Frazier (who will go to AAA if Stanton is the primary LF). The main reason they kept him, besides clubhouse presence, is that they don't really have anyone else who can play CF adequately besides Hicks.and Gardner is a 4th OF in that scenario?
This is the right question but he is having Tommy John surgery on his throwing shoulder, so NY really can't count on him this year. If he does come back as himself and Gleyber and Machado are also both healthy and raking, it's a nice problem to have especially at essentially no cost (financially, there is a bit of opportunity cost). So when Didi comes back they either release him or trade him based on his production?
Sorry, twice I made that mistake now. Anyway, not good for a SS was the point.Tommy John surgery is performed on the elbow.
And Jacob is the 5th. Niceand Gardner is a 4th OF in that scenario?
Probably not. It’s difficult to play baseball when you have the durability of a potato chip. And Jacob is the 5th. Nice
Plus the fact that he will cost a lot less.Well, it's an unusual case. Tulo says that his heels were bothering him for a long time, hence his poor numbers/performance. So he had surgery on both and reports say he looked like he was moving great in the workouts a couple of weeks ago, he had to have looked good for Cashman to essentially choose him over Iglesias or Hechavarria or Galvis, all proven very good defensive SSs.
Definitely less, but I’m sure Hechavarria wouldn’t cost much if NY had gone in that direction.Plus the fact that he will cost a lot less.
Satan's got a lot of paperwork to get throughI assumed the ball dropped in Times Square? When does the other (Machado) ball drop? What's the hold-up?
Wow that's a lot of years.Three years with a team option for a fourth.
He is 3-4 years younger than most of the other top guys on the market this winter, 29 to their 33 or 34.Wow that's a lot of years.
Passan has 3/$39 with a 4th year club option.Rosenthal and Passan confirming the deal also, no word yet on terms.
He’s 31. 12/22/1987. Not that disagree it’s a fair deal tho.He is 3-4 years younger than most of the other top guys on the market this winter, 29 to their 33 or 34.
Yeah, brainlock, thanks, but all of Miller/Robertson/Ottavino are 33 or 34, so a 2-3 year difference still. Like I said, I'm not the biggest fan, but maybe he will be better further removed from his injury. He’s 31. 12/22/1987. Not that disagree it’s a fair deal tho.
