Rumor is they will offer a max deal to Otto Porter, who is having something of a breakout season with the Wizards.Marks should be able to either make some moves or add some good talent via free agency where one would think it wouldn't be anywhere close to as bad as it is this year. (I also hope this is a reverse jinx post.)
Ronde Hollis Jefferson for Jordan Clarkson makes sense along with actually trying to sign unrestricted free agents this year rather than throwing money at RFAs like Crabbe and Richardson.
I don't think the Nets will be the only team willing to offer that to Porter. Which will in turn allow Washington to match it and not take it into their cap space. However, their luxury tax will be off the charts, which will keep them from making any other moves. So we are looking at Washington's roster for the foreseeable future as it is today unless they make the stupid moving thinking Beal and Wall can't win together.Rumor is they will offer a max deal to Otto Porter, who is having something of a breakout season with the Wizards.
Any way that the Nets would be able to pick up Yogi Ferrell?
Will there be a need for anyone to throw money at James Young. I agree they should sign him.Mentioned this in another thread but isn't James Young exactly the kind of guy the Nets should be throwing money at?
Which play are you referring to? The last two plays he was sitting in a corner not doing anything (though he did come up with the loose ball on Smart's steal - and almost threw it away).Him getting utterly lost in his crunch time defensive substitution last night didn't inspire much confidence. He's lucky Smart bailed him out on that play
That same play. He loses his man (Portis), but Butler doesn't get it to him while he's wide open for a corner three. Horford realizes Portis is open and starts to flash out away from Gibson in the post, but Young scrambles to recover. Here it is, keep an eye on Young at the beginning of the video, he starts to pick up Portis, but then turns his head and looks around as if he's unsure of his assignment before he makes his way back to Portis. The hesitation leaves Portis open.Which play are you referring to? I'm not sure I see it the same way as you. Here's a link with a longer video: http://www.scoopnest.com/user/NBAonTNT/832428138877423617. It's the longest I can find. That same play. If Butler swings that to Portis (#5) immediately, either Portis has a wide open look at the corner three, or Horford comes to contest, leaving Gibson open under the hoop.
The Nets would need to win 7 of 15 down the stretch to simply catch the Lakers current win total. At their current pace, you'd expect them to win 3. It's hard to see that happening.Anyone worried the lakers could catch them? Lol. Lakers tanking at an insane rate while the nets are winning a couple games here and there. Down to 6 games
Their schedule, at least, has been considerably better. Two wins against a truly lifeless Knicks team that waited too long to begin tanking in earnest (not that I'm complaining). They do seem to be considerably better with Lin playing
I loved both of the Big Z's and was a proponent for us drafting them both. Their size and career paths are similar at a young age although Zizic has better ball skills so watching Zubac play this year combined with Zizic's meteoric rise from last winter can give us a real good idea of what to expect out of Zizic next season. I feel he's an immediate rotation contributor for us in '17-'18 with the potential to be so much more by seasons end and beyond. He has excellent mechanics from the FT line to develop as a perimeter shooter/high post facilitator in the Horford mold too.I sat like 5 seats away from Zubac at the draft last year. He literally looked like he was 15 but was a big dude. Looks to be on his way to a nice NBA career.
Lakers have three against Minnesota and one each against New Orleans and Sacramento. Much more probable that they grab at least one or two. They just almost beat Cleveland.Looking at the Lakers schedule, it seems probable that they will not pick up another win, so it's up to the weak competition to keep beating the Nets, who won last night. This could go down to the wire.
No. Just...no.They're gonna win again. This is feeling like September 2011
The Lakers have 5 winnable games. They'll probably win one or two of them, which makes Brooklyn's whole enterprise here largely irrelevant unless they play like .750 ball the rest of the way.Make it stop
I watched this game start to finish. The Cavs rested for 50% of the game......whenever they were on the defensive end. The Lakers have several winnable games I expect them to get 2 or 3 more.Did not notice the Cleveland game. Very odd - none of the Cavs stars rested for that one and it was still a close game.
0% chance they lose to Minnesota three times. The lakers won't win again this season. Nets have won more in the last two weeks than I expected all year. It's gonna be more interesting than I expected
