Poor Eck. I know he cannot like seeing that replay.

In other news, who knew that Travis Shaw and Wade Miley may be going to the World Series? And here is Counsell stealing outs with the corpse of Joakim Soria

Hader with 5 outs left? Save him for tomorrow, or tonight if the Dodgers threaten.
I know there are different schools of thought on this but I have come around to the fact that you never save pitching in the playoffs. Win every pitch of every inning.

Is Josh Hader the best relief pitcher in MLB history?

6.2 ip, 2 h, 0 er, 0 bb, 12 k so far this playoffs.

81.1 ip, 36 h, 22 er, 30 bb, 143 k in the regular season.

Just saying, I hate calling a guy a "corpse."
I know it's just hyperbole, but it bugs me.
And if you had been watching their games, both of those players have had very good years. But who expected them to get past the super-hyped Cubs? No one. Which makes it delicious.

Interesting--but they're playing baseball? Did they go into it at all? Was it that it wasn't their team, or do they just not watch?
To be fair, these are San Francisco kids and are Giants fans. If the Giants had made the playoffs, I know the answer would be different. But this is the MLB playoffs, the DS and CS series all have bright young stars leading their teams. And yet not one of these 10 kids admitted to watching any of these games.

Its obviously an unscientific poll with minuscule sample size but my college age son who played baseball all throughout high school isn't watching either. Of course, parties may have something to do with that too!

How is Dave Roberts going to send his lineup a message to pay attention to every AB? It makes no sense - I refuse to believe the Dodgers hitters are taking ABs off. And I like this booth btw.

No no, I totally agree. Growing up my friends and I always watched the playoffs, didn't matter who was playing.

Oh I knew that Shaw and Miley (at least toward the latter part of the season) were having good years. Its just amazing they may actually get to the WS with Milwaukee.

I will rephrase my sentence on Soria and simply say that Counsell stole an out with the ossified remnants of Joakim Soria. That is probably more accurate than the other word anyhow.

I just realized that tonight is the Wisconsin-area's version of Boston's Sunday night. Big playoff game as well as a feature NFL game for their football team. Cheeseheads forever!

the Dodgers have played like this at home all year. pitching pretty good but giving up some crucial runs late, then <2 runs on offense.
