I know there are different schools of thought on this but I have come around to the fact that you never save pitching in the playoffs. Win every pitch of every inning.Hader with 5 outs left? Save him for tomorrow, or tonight if the Dodgers threaten.
Sadly, thats the demographic. I polled some 13-16 year old Little Leaguers on our fall ball team and not one kid said they are watching these playoffs. Baseball has a problem...Apparently, only bald impotent men are watching.
Interesting--but they're playing baseball? Did they go into it at all? Was it that it wasn't their team, or do they just not watch?Sadly, thats the demographic. I guess you have me on ignore. I said it two posts above yours.I'm with Buck. This move is mysterious.
Just saying, I hate calling a guy a "corpse."Poor Eck. I know he cannot like seeing that replay.
In other news, who knew that Travis Shaw and Wade Miley may be going to the World Series? And here is Counsell stealing outs with the corpse of Joakim Soria
Are kids watching any professional sport? All of the televised sports have a demographic problem.Sadly, thats the demographic. I polled some 13-16 year old Little Leaguers on our fall ball team and not one kid said they are watching these playoffs. Baseball has a problem...
Not on ignore. I probably was typing laboriously on my phone.I guess you have me on ignore. I said it two posts above yours.
To be fair, these are San Francisco kids and are Giants fans. If the Giants had made the playoffs, I know the answer would be different. But this is the MLB playoffs, the DS and CS series all have bright young stars leading their teams. And yet not one of these 10 kids admitted to watching any of these games.Interesting--but they're playing baseball? Did they go into it at all? Yeah, where are the ads for the old ladies?Apparently, only bald impotent men are watching.
Koji 2013?Is Josh Hader the best relief pitcher in MLB history?
6.2 ip, 2 h, 0 er, 0 bb, 12 k so far this playoffs.
81.1 ip, 36 h, 22 er, 30 bb, 143 k in the regular season.
No no, I totally agree. Growing up my friends and I always watched the playoffs, didn't matter who was playing. To be fair, these are San Francisco kids and are Giants fans. Its obviously an unscientific poll with minuscule sample size but my college age son who played baseball all throughout high school isn't watching either. Of course, parties may have something to do with that too!
Oh I knew that Shaw and Miley (at least toward the latter part of the season) were having good years. Its just amazing they may actually get to the WS with Milwaukee.Just saying, I hate calling a guy a "corpse."
I know it's just hyperbole, but it bugs me.
And if you had been watching their games, both of those players have had very good years. But who expected them to get past the super-hyped Cubs? No one. Which makes it delicious.

He is on but the Perez is hitting better. Is Schoop off the Brewers playoff roster?
Jeffress would have to pull a double Kimbrel for them to lose. Hate saying that about CK.Now I am lost. Is Counsell taking a big risk here?
He’s on his way.Jeffress would have to pull a double Kimbrel for them to lose. Hate saying that about CK.
Uh, how about now?Jeffress would have to pull a double Kimbrel for them to lose. Hate saying that about CK.
He does. But Counsell has no starting pitching so he is forced to use guys like him, Knebel and Hader a ton to get through these games.Jeffress seems overused and out of gas, all postseason actually
This is true, but Miley and Chacin each came up bigHe does. But Counsell has no starting pitching so he is forced to use guys like him, Knebel and Hader a ton to get through these games.
I totally ignored that football game figuring it would be a slaughter. You never know.I just realized that tonight is the Wisconsin-area's version of Boston's Sunday night. Big playoff game as well as a feature NFL game for their football team. Cheeseheads forever!
Couldn’t agree more.Any day Machado loses is a good day.
