Why not use a timeout there?
Am I fucking up the math?
Now, they run a play on 2nd down, you use a timeout. They run a play on third down, you use your last timeout. Then if they score, you have no timeouts with whatever time is left.
Use the timeout there, stop them on 2nd down, then let the clock run down after the third down play. Clock stops at the 2:00 warning, and the clock stops after fourth down no matter what. You get the ball back with the same amount of time, and 1 timeout?

What on earth was the DB doing? If he throws that back across his body into coverage so be it, you have to cut Allen off
I was wondering the same thing. I think Payton's theory was that Buffalo was going to score and he'd rather have the TOs on offense.
Good play by Hamlin to stop him from getting to the sideline, talk about getting thrown into the fire.
I feel like Buffalo shouldn't have called a TO there and made Denver have to rush out the FG unit.
