Thanks for the thoughtful response. Can't wait for you to sink your fists in the rotting corpse of this horse after the holiday.
The Mac passes you're referencing usually have a gray area because he's a much worse QB than Herbert. You have to play make believe with these really obvious Herbert passes that are clearly the receivers fault and then pretend like this same thing happens to Mac all the time because it props up this ridiculous straw man you created.
Dude, the first throw in that series of drops in the Herbert video was behind the receiver, slightly.
That throw, even if it was caught by a Pats receiver, would have resulted in a dozen posts shitting on Mac, saying the throw sucked, it was late, it was behind him...And that's if it was caught. God forbid it was incomplete. When Boutte couldn't get his feet down in week one, twice, Mac got blamed. When Parker dropped a ball against the Raiders on the final drive, in his bread basket, Mac took shrapnel. When Bourne, also in game one, on a critical third down, dropped a dime in his hands, the response was "it would have been a tough catch." There's a shit ton of posts crapping all over Mac for the throw that JuJu dropped. Then we get the awesome "Mac can't drive them down the field to win a game" after each and every one of these situations (not to mention Rhamondre's fumble at the end of a game last year, and the lateral from hell)
Like I said, I get it. Because you believe Herbert is a better quarterback, you will blame someone else, correctly, I might add, when they fuck up. When Mac has a receiver make a drop that high school fucking receivers make, there's now a gray area.
Do you now understand what I'm saying? I'm not comparing Mac to Herbert, I'm comparing the
responses to the same fucking situations. And I was just doing it for fun, originally, but some of you get very defensive about your "everything is always Mac's fault" takes being slightly challenged. I've been on this skill position and offensive line problem since 2019, this isn't new. Just because I don't blame Mac for all of the ills of this team doesn't make me a Mac apologist or someone who believes Mac is better than Justin Herbert or that I'm even comparing the two of them (that's the shit I push back on).
Don't worry, when Bailey Zappe or whoever else takes over this team, it'll be heaven. He's got skill position players all over the field that are only fucking up because Mac sucks, he'll set alignments and protections better than Mac so our offensive line will be awesome because Mac sucks, Rhamondre will get a jolt of energy and start breaking tackles so he can have a long run of 11 yards which he can't do now, because Mac sucks, and BoB will call a perfect game and Bill will make the right decisions on going for it/kicking field goals, etc. which he can't do now, because wait for it, Mac sucks. I mean, I can write Mac sucks as much as anyone (and probably quicker, because I can type fast), but it gets awfully boring saying the same shit everyone else says.
