I normally go for upsets when I don’t have a strong rooting interest and I kind of like Kirk but no ill will towards 9ers.I guess it depends which team you wanted to win.

If the Niners have the cap space to go get Kirk Cousins, given all the fucking talent on that roster, then I simply will not understand how the Pats have ended up with the roster that they have.Kirk Cousins trade upcoming for SF. This is the opening Shanny's been looking for to bring in his binkie.
I'm 75% kidding.
he is only owed his game checks for the acquiring team. It’s not that much. Heavily discussed by Jets media. He has a no trade clause and would not go to the Jets but may waive for SF.If the Niners have the cap space to go get Kirk Cousins, given all the fucking talent on that roster, then I simply will not understand how the Pats have ended up with the roster that they have.
Wouldn't the Vikes have to eat a 28.5mil dead cap hit in 2024 if they trade him this season, or am I misunderstanding it?he is only owed his game checks for the acquiring team. It’s not that much. I thought that was happening trade or not but I’m not a cap expert so only saying what I think I heard someone else say. He is FA after this year.Wouldn't the Vikes have to eat a 28.5mil dead cap hit in 2024 if they trade him this season, or am I misunderstanding it?
But he has 4 void years tacked on to the end of his deal with the $28.5 million in bonus dollars. If he is traded now, that all accelerates on to this year's cap, so he'd cost against the cap an extra $28.5 million less the rest of his guaranteed salary this year, so subtract about $6 million off that leaving about $22.5 million. They only have $8 million in cap space, so they'd have to find a way to clear $14.5 million.I thought that was happening trade or not but I’m not a cap expert so only saying what I think I heard someone else say. GFIN is a helluva drug.If the Niners have the cap space to go get Kirk Cousins, given all the fucking talent on that roster, then I simply will not understand how the Pats have ended up with the roster that they have.
FA next year and team rumored to want a restart. This regime didn’t bring KC in. Whether or not this is the smart move, I can’t say. It has been reported for a long time that they were willing to listen to offers. Why is Minnesota trading their QB again?
Especially to guys in purple wearing 24 unfortunatelyPurdy throws such a nice ball.
I agree, but don't sleep on the Chiefs. Their defense's improvement may make up for whatever slippage their offense has suffered.Maybe the Eagles might be a great team
The Chiefs also have a massive advantage of having every call go their way. Chiefs plus Refs = best team in the NFL by a mileI agree, but don't sleep on the Chiefs. Their defense's improvement may make up for whatever slippage their offense has suffered.
Back to the Eagles, if they stay healthy, I could see them peaking by the end of the season. This team hasn't looked as good as they did last season, but they are breaking in a new OC and a new DC, which is why I could see them getting better as the season goes on.
There were a couple of calls in the AFCCG when the Pats played the Chiefs that didn't go KC's way, as I recall. One big one that DID, but a couple key ones that didn't.The Chiefs also have a massive advantage of having every call go their way. Chiefs plus Refs = best team in the NFL by a mile
There was more than one big one that did. There were a couple of calls in the AFCCG when the Pats played the Chiefs that didn't go KC's way, as I recall. One big one that DID, but a couple key ones that didn't.
I specifically remember the no-call on the swing pass to Williams when there was a clear pick like 5 yards downfield that had BB throwing his tablet in frustration. There was more than one big one that did.
Multiple penalties on that drive beforehand. Pats got a turnover, called back on a holding. Then DPI on JCJ that was... questionable.I specifically remember the no-call on the swing pass to Williams when there was a clear pick like 5 yards downfield that had BB throwing his tablet in frustration.
There was also a game sealing fumble by Kelce that was called back due to defensive holding on JC Jackson with about 3 minutes to go. Would have given the Patriots the ball in Chiefs territory up 3.I specifically remember the no-call on the swing pass to Williams when there was a clear pick like 5 yards downfield that had BB throwing his tablet in frustration.
The only one that was halfway arguable was the roughing the passer call in the 4th quarter, but even that one was on second down. The Dee Ford offsides is just as obvious and objective a penalty as you'll see, how could that go uncalled?Ah yes. Fun times. But nonetheless it's true that some key calls also went against KC in that game.
My only question on the Eagles is the number of turnovers by Hurts. I mean people are quick to point out Purdy with three interceptions in his last two games, but Hurts has been turning it over at a higher rate as well. If he cuts down on those, the Eagles are going to be tough to beat.I agree, but don't sleep on the Chiefs. Their defense's improvement may make up for whatever slippage their offense has suffered.

I've seen that go uncalled lots of times. I've seen guys line up in the neutral zone without it getting called lots. The only one that was halfway arguable was the roughing the passer call in the 4th quarter, but even that one was on second down. The Dee Ford offsides is just as obvious and objective a penalty as you'll see, how could that go uncalled?
So they benefitted from an obvious call because refs have screwed up in this situation before? I think when we speak in terms of being the beneficiary of calls we don't generaly include ones that were 100% factually correct.I've seen that go uncalled lots of times. I've seen guys line up in the neutral zone without it getting called lots.
Yeah, I have no patience for that either, but coming out of that Pats game general consensus was that the Chiefs were screwed by the refs when a whole lot of ticky tacky calls on big moments went their way.We also got a favorable call on what looked like an unintentional touch by Edelman on a punt. This "the Chiefs win because they get all the calls' is beneath us. The Chiefs win because they have an excellent coach and the best QB in football. We should recognize the power of that winning formula, because it was ours for two decades.
The better team, better coach, and better QB won that day. Today, the better team and better QB are definitely in KC, so they can enjoy their run.Yeah, I have no patience for that either, but coming out of that Pats game general consensus was that the Chiefs were screwed by the refs when a whole lot of ticky tacky calls on big moments went their way.
That's why I dismissed their whining, because shit broke both ways in that game. The Dee Ford play was a penalty as was the uncalled pick play.Yeah, I have no patience for that either, but coming out of that Pats game general consensus was that the Chiefs were screwed by the refs when a whole lot of ticky tacky calls on big moments went their way.
That was then. This is now. There's a changing of the guard. There were a couple of calls in the AFCCG when the Pats played the Chiefs that didn't go KC's way, as I recall. One big one that DID, but a couple key ones that didn't.
Never disagreed with that. The better team, better coach, and better QB won that day. Today, the better team and better QB are definitely in KC, so they can enjoy their run.
True, true. That was then. This is now. There's a changing of the guard.
Yep. It's also embarrassing because every fan base in the NFL bitched and moaned that the Pats got all the calls for 20 years. Meanwhile, according to Pats fans we're on a 350+ game streak of having the refs totally against us and making many more calls that favor the other team. It's almost like officiating is just bad, and not intentionally biased. We also got a favorable call on what looked like an unintentional touch by Edelman on a punt. This "the Chiefs win because they get all the calls' stuff is beneath us. The Chiefs win because they have an excellent coach and the best QB in football. We should recognize the power of that winning formula, because it was ours for two decades.
No doubt about this. I think it was during the SNF broadcast that they showed the Eagles had basically the same amount of yards and points per game as last season, but their turnover differential was like +12 through six games last year and it's -1 or something this year. That's the main difference between "whoa the Eagles are amazing" and "the Eagles are a good team that doesn't look great".My only question on the Eagles is the number of turnovers by Hurts. I mean people are quick to point out Purdy with three interceptions in his last two games, but Hurts has been turning it over at a higher rate as well. If he cuts down on those, the Eagles are going to be tough to beat.
I think that bodes well for them. They're having shitty execution, making mistakes and still winning while producing offense at a similar level to last year. If they cut the mistakes out the Eagles could be a wagon. Clearly they have shown an ability to win rock fights. No doubt about this. Hurts had 3 picks against the Jets but I would say only the last one was on him.My only question on the Eagles is the number of turnovers by Hurts.
