There is probably not any evidence, because the NFL playoffs are such SSS. The 2010 Pats demolished all the playoff teams they played... then lost in the first round. The 2018 Pats lost to a bunch of crappy teams... and won it all.
I don’t even have data points, but my recollection from being a fan of the Cowher-era Steelers was that they won more than their share of marquee games but lost more often than you’d expect to second-division opponents. I’d rate the playoff performances of those teams as collectively disappointing (2 SB appearances and 1 title in 15 years as a perennial contender), but in retrospect that might be reflective of how difficult it is to win without an elite QB rather than underperformance in the biggest games. But they sure looked good against the other elite teams in the regular season.

Pummeling shitty teams will add to the differential.

I can't imagine that crushing teams is a negative. But the Dolphins are definitely a front running operation, in that they have beaten the worst teams in the NFL (literally, not hyperbole) but have been beaten by the good teams they have played. It's hard to judge their performance this year. Better than most, at least.
I would argue that Miami’s results to date are not sustainable. Either they are elite and will start winning games against other elite teams in addition to pummeling the also-rams, or they aren’t elite and will play more tight games against non-elite teams going forward, likely losing some of those. There isn’t really much precedent for a team consistently steamrolling the also-rans and consistently losing to the contenders.

Agree, those Steelers were a bit held back by QB play. Those were before the days where mediocre guys like Dilfer could be carried to a title.

Not sure I've ever seen an olineman knock the ball away from his own guy before. CMC would've recovered that ball if 65 hadn't come in and knocked it away.

addison is who I wanted in the 23 draft. Hope the Gonzalez pick works out but god damn I'd love watching him play.

Good call. Either he was down or it was grounding; no practical difference between the two. Definitely not a fumble.

Or imagine him on the Dolphins had they not forfeited their pick for tampering with Brady and Payton.

Losing Addison, in addition to Jefferson being out, would be really not good for the Vikes tonight.
Looked like they were trying to stretch his calf out (cramp) and he was walking like I do when I get that midnight calf cramp… hopefully he’s getting some fluids and back for the next drive.

I know folks don't like fantasy talk, but fuck it.

I have one fantasy team in which I'm losing 121.56-120.10, and he has CMC and I have Addison and Mattison.

I have another that I'm losing 97.7 to 96.4, he has Mattison and I have Purdy

And I have one where I'm losing 141.8-141.2, where he has CMC and I have Kittle.

This is getting a bit outrageous
