Man, they really aren't worried about the clock at all. Ridiculous.
Really, does it matter? The difference between 2 and 3 minutes is not that significant. The crucial part was scoring before the two minute warning. They did. Beyond that the only question left is whether the the Rams will get a first down.

Doesn’t an onside kick still make sense? A first down by LAR ends the game anyways, so you’re probably talking about 20-30 yards in field position absent a pinned punt or big return.

It might not all things considered given how unlikely recovering it is. The field position equity gained by kicking it deep is the plausible value.

remember when Talib got hurt in the 2013 AFCCG? not that we really had an offense to compete that day anyways.
Was that on the play where Welker wiped him out?

He also got hurt in the 2012 AFCCG vs the Ravens too if I remember correctly.

So he got hurt and was taken out of back to back AFCCG's, so he's got that going for him.

True, but it's not as though the Rams have had trouble getting first downs
It’s weird how teams change approach when they have this situation though and run three times against a stacked box. I think with three time outs and the two minute warning you kick it deep here and dare them to pass.

Rams more likely to go on 4th Down after the onside kick fails.

I'd onside it. If DAL defense was playing like they normally do then maybe you kick but not tonight. Try and get it...then you hope you force a 3 and out of you don't.

cowboys are very lucky the ref didn't acknowledge at least 1 player calling timeout at 2:03 left, if they did rams could throw on 3rd down with no clock downside

If you don't get the 2 pt conversion, the game is over. At least by kicking the XP, you get it to 1 possession and give yourself a chance at tying the game up.
Yep. I'm drunk, and being stupid. Ignore me.

2-2.5 extra minutes and I'd still say go for it early.

Why timeout before 2:00?

You can;t take risk of incompletion at 2:00
Makes it more likely they run on second down. If they pass and it’s incomplete with less than 8 seconds you saved yourself a time out.

2:06 or less let it go to 2:00. More than 2:07 I would call the time out if it’s 2d down.
