This loss doesn’t bother me that much. We shot 40-30 against a good defense on the road and took it to OT. Would’ve been nice to win but the Wolves are good enough that there’s no shame in losing on their court.

Mazzulla is fucking clown. As the game is slipping away, he holds on to his time outs. Uses one as the game is essentially out of reach, gets that Hauser look. End of regulation was a disaster too. I hope he's gone by New Year's. He's a disgrace to the profession.

Only thing I didn’t like was the offensive game plan down the stretch and in OT did not look one iota improved from last year.

How in the world can the offense stagnate like that in OT. It’s shit like that that causes me not to trust regular season hype as I don’t trust them in crunch time come playoffs.
Well the hope is that 6 months from now they run more KP/Tatum pick and rolls with JB in the corner for the kick out, but that would require everyone to acknowledge their limitations so probably a 50/50 proposition. Just have to hope the talent wins out and they can win 16 playoff games that aren’t that close.

Bad shooting and Edwards was great. Tatum and Brown need to learn that there are some things they can’t do as well as others but they weren’t helped by Jrue having an awful night.

Big picture wise it feels like we start strong with Porzingis but lose him as the game goes on.

The defense is elite though, and without White at that. To survive such a dismal shooting effort and have a chance to win is pretty impressive.

To only get 1 shot off in the last 3 possessions of the 4th quarter was a killer. Jrue turnover, horford tripping over himself and brown jumper. Have to clean that up but it’s something they had issues with last year as well .

Tatum really has arrived, KAT fouled out, Ant had 5, JB 5, KP 5, Gobert 4 and Tatum finished the game with only 2 fouls.

The turnovers late were on passes OOB instead of live ball TOs on drives, that’s improvement! Have to call a timeout to get a good look at the end of regulation once it’s clear the players have no plan.

I honestly think the look they got was above the average play out of a timeout.

Yeah, not calling a TO on the final possession has worked roughly zero times over the past few years. I get it you don’t want teams to set their defense but I think these guys that TO regardless. They looked lost.

First time watching Ant since FIBA this summer, and I recalled feeling impressed with him then. Quickly pulled up the leading scorers from the tournament and - holy shit. Top US player in scoring was... 15th?

Also, can we bring Tremont Waters home from China?

Pritchard scoreless in 3 out of 6 games. Rough.
He is pressing out there and it is painful to watch. His job is to distribute the ball to better players and make open threes. Wayyyyyyyy too many ISO drives into the paint where he inevitably gets stonewalled and turns the possession into a scramble.

I have to imagine his shooting will regress to the mean but the fact that he’s practicing masonry at the same time is the cherry on top of the shit sundae.

Jrue and KP were a combined 9/30 from the field, and we took a very good Wolves team to overtime in their building without one of our starters.

If this is as bad as the C's can play, and honestly, it was pretty bad, Tatum had 6 turnovers, Jaylen had a couple boneheaded plays, etc. then I'm not all that concerned in the slightest.

Overall, I'm not feeling a huge amount of stress about an early November loss to a really good defensive team, aside from the fact that I do not think PP can be the third guard on a title team.

So I guess I am concerned? But there's time to figure it out.

Edit: spelling.

I’m surprised they didn’t get Goebert involved more when he was covering Porzingis. I know KP didn’t shoot well but it seems like an advantage they didn’t use very often.
