T&A -- The Fins game vs. the Lions last year was by far the most stressful for me as a fan. The entire contest, I was fearful that Suh was going to go Bloodsport on Tannehill at some point during the game. Thankfully, it never happened -- but I definitely get why other fans don't like the dude. Now that he's in Miami, I want to like him, and his demeanor off the field makes it hard not to at times, but if he's going to keep stomping on quarterbacks? The sh-t he did yesterday with Morris -- sure, it wasn't classy -- but it wasn't going to cause an injury. (I'd classify it more as a knee than a kick.) I'm just hoping he's smart enough not to cross the line any further. Though, his history doesn't leave me very confident of this.
By in large, I thought the Dolphins kind of sucked yesterday, for many of the reasons already noted. Part of me thinks the team might have done some heavy newspaper reading, as there has been way too much hype about this year's squad already. But, hey, they got the win on the road -- and no victory in the NFL should be taken for granted. My 3 biggest concerns right now going forward are:
1) This offense is still a finesse group. If they can't convert 3-and short to extend drives or get TD in the redzone, this team's potential will not be fully realized.
2) The run defense. It was an issue last year, and it was an issue again yesterday. The division games will not be pretty if this area isn't improved upon -- and quickly.
3) LB coverage. Reed beat this group up a bit yesterday. What do you think Gronk's going to do?
I was at the bar yesterday, so I'll re-watch the game tonight or tomorrow.
