Piercy doubled it. Drove it into the bunker behind the green. Goes bunker-to-bunker twice before getting up and down for double.

Still missing a stroke there, but agree with the main point.  It's a bitch of a short hole.

Wow, Sergio and DJ both go into the par 5 17th at -7, leading by 1, and both make BOGEY there.  Now, there are about 7 guys at -6, but only they are still on the course.  DJ looking at a short birdie putt on 18 after a great approach.  Sergio on the tee at 18.  If DJ makes the putt, odds on he wins.

He missed.  Hahn, DJ, Sergio and Casey all tied at -6.  Sergio only one left on course, but he just blew his tee shot left, and short.  Going to be tough to even make par there.  Playoff coming.

Spieth and Casey both must feel terrible about those 18th hole bogeys.

Looks like Casey still will get a chance in a playoff, barring a miracle from the Stockton plaque.

Awesome conversation between Bae and his caddie

Yup.  Looked like the caddie lost out in that convo though, tried to explain how the cold and damp weather was going to make it play longer.  No chance that 6 iron was going to get there uphill from 200+

14 is kind of random to be the 3rd playoff hole.  Probably one of the least interesting/memorable holes on the course.

Though 10 green and 14 tee are fairly close I suppose.

MC looming for Rory. +6 trough 17. Some ugly scores out there. DJ is +12. PGA National/Weather is winning this week.

Long day for the Honda. 3rd round started/resumed at 10am. Leaders go off soon. They're going to try and get as much play in as possible today then wrap it up tomorrow morning.

Interesting leaderboard. Paddy Harrington is following Reteif Goosen's footsteps from a week ago and holds the 36 hold lead. It seems unlikely that his game holds up, but he's fun to root for. Patrick Reed is a shot back, with Donald and Poulter lurking.

Double for Poulter, and Reed pours in a bomb. Tied up. Why doesn't Poulter do that shit in Ryder Cups?

Also, could there be a more hated top 2 on a leaderboard than this?

Edit: Now Poulter takes a bath off the tee on 7. Wow. Even Sergio would be proud of this trainwreck.

We should have a post to keep track of players who WD from tournaments because of injuries after bad rounds. Inevitably, the first time 39 year-old Tiger Woods withdraws because of injury, he'll be accused of quitting or faking and we'll hear that he's a disgrace to the game.

Today, Ryan Moore, 32, withdrew because of a "neck injury" after shooting a 77 yesterday. He's expected to play next week in Scottsdale.
Chris Stroud (32) and Morgan Hoffmann (25) each withdrew from the Honda Classic on Thursday after posting the two highest rounds of the day(80). No reasons were given.

Yes. Poulter's train wreck has carried into the morning. He just tripled 14. 5 balls in the water this round, I believe.

Reed and Harrington tied at -7 heading into the Bear Trap. Berger has posted -6.
