It´s an open game in the first 20mins in Sevilla so far. Bayern passes around, Sevilla presses very high up the field, Sevilla gains possession somewhere and plays deep balls very fast.

Huge chance for Sarabia, alone in front of Ulreich after Hummels blocked a low cross, Sarabia was unmarked and received the bounce. And he shot it wide! WOW!

Before that, biggest highlight was a yellow card for Correa who dove in the box after almost no contact.

Edit: If Sevilla keeps pressing this high up the pitch for the rest of the half, they will be tired after 60mins and Bayern will find their holes (, bring in Robben, score a curling ball in the far corner).

1-0 Sevilla, Sarabia.

Good morning Bernat. Superquick reflex to lift his arm for a freekick call for handball. And sleeping on the cross...(and a yellow a minute later...Alaba is 3 levels better..)

Goal of the season?
I think so. Sometimes bicycle kicks can be overrated, but that cross wasn’t that soft, he was in traffic, he went WAY up, and he smashed it. Breathtaking.

Edit: to say nothing of the stage, if that influences things.

1-2, Bayern lead. Ribery with a high cross, Thiago with a bouncing header and Escudero touches it into his own net. This time it´s a goal for the shooter, as the ball would have hit the goal (although it would have been saved), so goal Thiago.

That 0-2 from Ronaldo was a beauty. But you have to think that he trains that probably 20 times each day, just for that glorious goal now, so for him that´s probably nothing special.

I don’t get the age thing. He just turned 33. He is a fitness freak who doesn’t drink. Plus he has size that ages better (than say Rooney) and his minutes are managed really well (he didn’t play over the weekend). I wouldn’t be surprised if he had another three years at the top level.

I would. Dude looked like shit the first half of this season. He's obviously turned it all the way around since the calendar flipped, but he does rely on quickness quite a bit and that does usually deteriorate with age.

All that said, both goals today were ab-so-lute-ly bon-kers.

After I sang Allegri's praises, he starts Betancur and Asamoah in a game that is entirely too big for them. Why he didn't start Mario and Cuadrado I do not understand. Also, it's hard to overstate how bad Higuaín looked (again). I have to think even Mandzukic would be a better option up top (then again, I hate Fatty with fiery passion). Silver lining in this match was that Dybala was getting solid practice for his future role in the Argentina NT following Messi as a #10 that has to drop to MF to get the ball and try and do everything himself.

Buffon is such a giant and a class act that I feel terrible saying this, but Buffon standing flat-footed and not moving an inch is the funniest part of the whole thing.

So which game today will be on Facebok live? and has anyone watched a game through that yet?
The games are on FS1 and FS2 today. I watched the Roma-Shakhtar match of Facebook Live and the commentary was weird: more conversational than play-by-play.

Also the postponed Milan Derby is a nice prelude to the two Champions League matches this afternoon.

California. Duh.
I'd like to once again say Fuck You to Fox, for putting one of the most anticipated matches of the entire tournament on a channel that huge parts of the country don't have.

The alternative is putting the most popular European club (if not a close second) in America on that channel. Fox also sells their matches on an a-la-carte basis, so you don't even need cable to get this game if you wish.

Roma playing Barca very tough right now. They looked skilled and composed in MF. Dzeko went down too easy and not likely a pen, but definitely some contact. Rak hits the post from an obscene angle. Messi looks engaged.

If this were to finish 3-1 to Liverpool I still think City might be favourites. The next goal is key. If City score early - it's game on.
