Why is Mitch looking so fucking deep on every play? Just take your 5 and 10 yard patterns and go down the field. They'd had 2 minutes and 2 timeouts, and they treated that like they got the ball with 45 seconds and no timeouts left.

Can’t be afraid to throw it downfield on 4th down Mitch. Might have had Burton up the seam. Certainly can’t hold it that long.

Moving the Line
Rodgers can't run on his knee, and they probably didn't want to even risk a fumble on a handoff.
That is fair. Maybe my idea, in a vacuum, for this score and time can be improved on by coming out in the Wildcat for this? That has its own risks, given your RB doesn't likely have that much experience under center, granted.

Great comeback, but Rodgers strikes me as a guy unlikely to have good health moving forward.

I wonder if Mack is like "Fuck. I'm tied to the Bears for the prime of my career. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck."

In a day of some pretty amazing football plays, if you had Ryan Fitzpatrick as the biggest star outside of Rodgers, you need to play the lottery ASAP.

Can you imagine being a Saints fan right now? You wait 8 months to remove the nasty taste of the Diggs catch out of your mouth only to watch Ryan Fitzpatrick tear your defense apart at home. I mean, I did NOT see that coming.

Nobody did.

And while Jets fans will be happy regardless of how their game turns out Monday (barring a season ending injury), they have to be frustrated watching that unfold. To be fair, as Mauf pointed out upthread, this is the first time in Fitzpatrick's career that he has had more than one or two good weapons.

Jameis had better deliver when he gets back.

Not frustrated at all

Fitz went 10-6 and had Marshall/Decker/Enunwa
Ivory/Powell

Fitz has some big games that year

I wish the guy well, he turned into a pumpkin for us but he put up 30 or more a few times

This. The whole last drive was there for them if Trubisky just realized how much time he had. Just take 5 yards at a time. They had two timeouts and the two minute warning, and only needed a FG.

I felt terrible for Bears fans.

I dunno.

Bears have a good, maybe great D, and Trubisky might LEARN the more he plays. Bears have bright not-so-distant future.

Looked to me like a team that had a good script for the early game, was surprised to find itself so far ahead and then wasn't sure what to do after that. Tucked into coast mode too soon and then had one drive to pull out of it. But there's a good framework there with the 2 backs and the makings of a good receiving group. Burton and Robinson flashed early but after that Mitch was basically getting it to whoever he could find after the play broke down.

The D has talent but is beatable the way any plus pass rush is theoretically beatable. Run an up-tempo O, block for a little bit, and get the ball out quickly and accurately.

My reaction was that I like what Nagy has done and I think with experience this Bears team is going to be very good. I am not looking forward to facing their offense. I was never a big Trubisky fan but he looked much better then he did last year (to no one's surprise). They got Rodgered but I get the feeling the Bears won't be giving the Patriots a pick in the 30's.

If only there was a way for a coach to whisper in his ear: "Hey, slow down. Lots of time still. Just take 5 yards at a time. We've got two timeouts and the two minute warning, and only need a FG."

I dunno, the offense was pretty bad. Trubisky averaged 5-something yards per attempt, was sacked on more than 10% of his drop backs, and fumbled twice. 7 of their 23 points was Mack's INT return. They had 10 drives, half of which were three-and-outs (one technically a four-and-out) and their final drive only wasn't a three-and-out because of roughing the passer. They had 146 yards of offense on their first two drives and 148 on their final eight.

He's so awesome.

Yeah he is.

Respect to Myles Jack. 10 tackles, deflected pass, and a pick six early in the 4th to make it 20-6. On top of that, unbelievable recovery after getting juked by SB at the beginning of the run to start the play above. He should be Defensive Player of the Week, and maybe DPotY.

Darnold did everything wrong on that play; he looked like a HS kid thrown into an NFL game.
