All out blitz the most tank playcall I’ve ever seen short of every defender falling down at the snap.

I’m not sure how you’d tell the difference, but it legit feels like the Jets are trying to lose games in these second halves,

It's a great bit of trivia. Who was the last Browns HC to win a playoff game? Belichick. Who was the opponent? The Patriots.
New Year’s Day 1995. I was hung over and pissed off. Bledsoe was 21-50 for 235 yards with 1 passing TD and 3 interceptions. The Patriots could not run the ball and they couldn’t throw it for shit either. The Cleveland defense was dominant that day with Pepper Johnson leading the way with a sack, an INT and 5 tackles but it felt like 50.

Really rough few seconds there for the Pats' playoff hopes. Awful fumble by Houston a few yards away from tying it, and the Jets cornerbacks playing to prevent the field goal up 4 (on back to back plays).

Yeah. That was the most intentional loss I've seen. They played single man with no safety help on of the fastest receivers. No clue why they are leaving safeties in the middle

So when NFL Films gets the Jets coaches reminding the D to lose intentionally, what happens? Besides the Pats losing a 3rd rounder.

Hmm, when the Jets throw up a prayer from midfield, the Raiders somehow managed to have like six defenders in the end zone. Wonder how they did that?

Yeah no one is ever going to convince me that the Jets coaches were trying to win the game on that last possession. I'll buy that the players were trying to win, but not whatever coach called for that defense.

I always doubted that they players on a crap team ever wanted to tank. What's in it for them?

I don’t think so, even if it was why wait until then to spring the tank? Ruggs could fall, you could actually sack Carr, who knows
No matter how well you plan and prepare, you need a bit of luck for things to go your way. When you're as good as the Jets are (at losing), these things tend to work out.

I’ve been for letting Gase coach out the season; still would. If I’m the owners Gregg Williams is fired by 5pm unless I told him to tank.

It's fun to joke about tanking, but it's just not possible in the NFL (for the reason you've noted, among others). The most likely rationale is that the players on the field and the coaches on the sideline are sub-replacement level, which is how you end up with plays like that one when lining up across from a legitimate team.

How is Gregg Williams not fired immediately? That is an indefensible defensive playcall.

If the league office truly cared about integrity of the game (HA) they’d take away the Jets first round pick for outwardly tanking. It’s one thing to field a shitty team. It’s another thing entirely to lose on purpose like that.

Not so sure. All the blatant defensive holding calls on the last drive to extend the drive and the last all out blitz? Who does that? Even with the all out blitz they didn’t get close to Carr and man to man on Ruggs is a disaster waiting to happen.

They forced a turnover on downs just plays before. All of this part of the grand tanking plan? They’re so good they can literally cover their tracks with intermittent game altering plays!

And they went for it on 4th and goal right before that when they could have taken the FG to tie if they were trying to lose.
