I would adjust this to read…..eye test for raw young high upside guys who are admittedly awful players at this stage of their career >>> advanced stats. I feel they could be somewhat relevant for a young physically mature player who is already is close to his ceiling if not already there. (Olynyk, Pritchard, etc)Yeah, I love the analytics but they seem not even wrong as a tool to evaluate young players. I completely ignore them for rookies. Eye test for young guys >>> advanced stats.
How awful is this supporting cast that LeBron needs to be Superman for the Lakers to beat the Wizards? It was against the Wizards, but LeBron went for 50 again tonight, along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists, on just 25 shots. It's going to mostly get lost in the Lakers' disaster of a season (hopefully), but coming into tonight LeBron was averaging 29.3 points with a TS% of .612. At the same age, Jordan was in year 3 of his 2nd retirement and Kobe was stumbling through his final year, averaging just 17.6 points with a TS% of .469. LeBron is something else.
The 'Zards started KCP, Kuzma, Porzingas, Kispert, and Neto. Hard to put together a worse defens7vevstarting with a basically healthy team (Beal wouldn't help much either). It was against the Wizards, but LeBron went for 50 again tonight, along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists, on just 25 shots. That's not even close to the worst defensive starters they've played this year, Porzingis has played solid D and Beal is one of their worst defenders. The 'Zards started KCP, Kuzma, Porzingas, Kispert, and Neto. Every time I watch Kuminga he looks a little better/more comfortable, he's going to be a beast when he fills out. Moody also improving...Poole is really turning it on...Some nice young talent to weave in with the vets. Kerr has done a great job developing these youngsters. Now that Tatum is a ripe old 24 and unquestioned Top 10 NBA player, he can pass the torch to the league's next great young forward.

Yeah while the little I've seen of Porzingas hasn't shown much defense other than blocking shots, you're probably right. Wiz played Gafford and rested Porzingas and gave up 127 to PDX's G-League team, including 44 to Josh Hart. Same PDX players who got to 85 against UT and 85 against MIN.That's not even close to the worst defensive starters they've played this year, Porzingis has played solid D and Beal is one of their worst defenders.
Earlier in the season they were running out Kuzma, Beal, KCP, Kispert and one of Gafford/T. Bryant... now that is some garbage
I’m not a huge Moody guy (except when I’m pissed off but I digress) but Kuminga looks so good to me and he hasn’t even scratched the surface of what he’s capable of doing on the floor. His physicals are off the charts and his ball skills are already emerging. Huge move on the Warriors part not to move him to squeeze another title out of Curry as he’s going to be their cornerstone for 10-15 years barring injury. The last thing that ownership group would have wanted was a low lottery team with that brand new arena there to fill.Every time I watch Kuminga he looks a little better/more comfortable, he's going to be a beast when he fills out. What's the latest intel on Wiseman?
What do the Warriors do with GP2 this summer? He's a bench piece I'd like to see on the C's
Not much intel to go on on J-Wise/J-Dub (he says he’s fine with either nickname, just don’t call him “Big Jim,” as annoying Warriors announcer Bob Fitzgerald tried to last season). He’s played one game in Santa Cruz and looked good: 18 points on 7-13 fg with 6 boards in 20 minutes. Looked huge — same great frame with 15-20 lbs. of added muscle — and athletic. FT stroke looked nice, as one would hope, given that’s one likely of the few skills he’s been able to practice consistently over the last year.Every time I watch Kuminga he looks a little better/more comfortable, he's going to be a beast when he fills out. The Pacers won’t be able to re-sign Smith as they can only begin the offer with the size of his original option. Smith got a good deal in the Suns moving him so he could get some minutes to put up numbers as he enters UFA. If I had to guess I’d say he ends up in Charlotte, who has cap space and could use bigs, especially young ones who fit into their growth curve. 4/$50m? $60m?Totally random, but it's going to be interesting what happens with Jalen Smith this offseason.
12.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.0 block in 25.9 mpg on .543/.391/.808 shooting in 12 games with Indiana. 18/46 from 3.
Turns 22 in 3 days, 10th overall pick just last year.
Will also be fascinating if Detroit can get anything out of Bagley.
The most underestimated part of the Harden deal was losing Seth Curry.76ers win in OT. Their offense looks awful. Again.
Who sat out today with a sore ankle that he has been nursing all season. The most underestimated part of the Harden deal was losing Seth Curry.
Fultz drained one three but dished 11 assists in 19 minutes.Fultz draining 3’s against Philly. Love it.
Don’t look past Drummond either. Embiid was +11 in 41 minutes and Jordan was -9 in the other 12.The most underestimated part of the Harden deal was losing Seth Curry.
In the current NBA, almost every night, all over the league. Doc has to figure out his rotations because the bench killed them tonight. Bench and a zone defense that ignored Bones Hyland while he torched them from deep in the fourth quarter. Only Embiid and Thybulle played any defense tonight.A doc rivers team blowing a huge lead, where have i seen this before?
He had a great 4th, but man that that jumper looks like something you'd see in a college intramural leagueBones fucking Hyland putting on a show in Philly!
Has an outside shot at a 70/20 game, holy shit.Towns has 56 through 3. Wolves lead the Spurs 121-106 after 3.
