  • No one gets the trifecta.

  • The 2 players having the longest names which contains zero "A"s are Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje and Nikoloz Tskitishvili at 20 letters each.
Thanks!

Lol, today in KANGZ news.

De'Aaron Fox... he of the $163M contract.... started an NFT collection a few weeks ago, promptly rugpulled it, pocketed $1.6M. Lol, ripping off his fans for 1% of his salary?

Maybe this is a question for ROTE not here, but what does it mean to rugpull an NFT?

basically you don't fulfill any of your promises and walk away from the project (while keeping the money), could mean you just never mint the tokens, could mean you mint them, but don't do any of the other development, shut down the project and walk away so they become "worthless".

Mostly first round exits. Was released something like 5 times. EDIT: I get that Barry was above the median outcome for the 21st pick in the draft; good for him. But his stance was laughable then and remains laughable now.
Yeah I mean I was never a fan but to call him a garbage benchwarmer isn’t really a fair characterization as he was a regular on many winning teams for a decade.

He’ll get votes. I need him to WIN to cash my ticket and for him to win the Bulls need to be the 1-seed. My Man!

DIdn't realize CHA had lost 9 out of last 10, losing to teams that are in top 8 of their conference and beating only DET. And their upcoming schedule includes TOR, MIL, CLE,BRK, and BOS (with DET and SAS included in that stretch).

Apparently they've been shooting poorly and their defense isn't helping out. It will be interesting to see if Harrell can improve them.

Please note for the record that Kliq has always been a firm believer in DeMar DeRozan, going back to his time as a member of Lil' Romeo's AAU team. Please consider that during any and all disagreements with Kliq in the Port Cellar.

Saw him in HS and his game was very similar then. Very few frills, just busting asses.

Comment from a few days ago on Reddit summed them up for me. They really miss Hayward, IMO (even though he was in for 2 losses before his injury in TOR):

Over the last two seasons Charlotte are 12-28 (25 win pace) without him and 50-42 with him (45 win pace)

It's ashame that Sergio Llull is unlikely to ever play in the NBA, otherwise we'd have a perpetual winner in the "L" category with 80%.

The season from Hell continues for the Knicks...

1st rounder Quentin Grimes comes in, and immediately suffers what looks like a severe knee injury.

76ers on pace to shoot 50 FTs tonight. Harden just fed a streaking Maxey from halfcourt. Thybulle was the fifth starter tonight.

Looks like 76ers’ third star is Maxey. Harden has adopted Tyrese.

All went well tonight but we need to see this for 10 games before making judgments.

The original report was a knee subluxation. If there is no ligament damage he’ll be fine in a week or two.

The Harden trade for the Sixers was all about this season and next. If they get a trophy out of it in that time window, which they may given the parity among the league's upper echelon teams, it will have been worthwhile. Which is why I don't agree with the takes that Morey got fleeced; this version of Harden is a much better fit for them than Simmons.

Same applies to the Nets, who have a similar window before the Kyrie Cliff begins.

Romeo wasn't playing for SA anyways. Probably could not have ended up in a worse situation unless SA's shot doctor can help his jump shot.
Romeo shot 9-21 from three since the new year. His issue now is the same as when he was at Indiana. He doesn’t compete the entire time he’s on the floor, has a loose handle and isn’t particularly explosive in traffic. In short…..he plays soft. It’s maddening bc he has the physical tools to be a solid player in this league. Agreed that landing in San Antonio behind all of their young wings is a pit stop on the way to another destination.

Rich Paul made it sound like any team drafting Bronny must get LeBrons approval or Klutch Sports will make it difficult to sign any of their FAs.

The NBA needs to step in and shut this down.

Bronny James is 6'2" and ranked anywhere from 30 to 50 in his class, and 4 star, not a 5 star prospect. Things can change, but right now if he wasn't LeBron's son nobody would consider him a sure fire NBA player, much less a star. LeBron is not doing the kid any favors when he says he wants to play with his son (and everything that is implied with that). Or, as Cousin Sal put in response to King James' proclamation, "Have fun in Greece".

Totally agree. He might make a Greek d-league out of high school at this point.

LeBron is like a shitty little league dad trying to pull strings to make sure his marginal kid makes the all star team. Good luck to the team that takes Bronny just to placate dad for 50 games a year and then has to worry about pissing him off by not playing the boy wonder.

LeBron is nearing the end of the line, when he's no longer LeBron!!! no one will care what Klutch has to say.

A 9-21 stretch over 15 games in January is as meaningless as his 5-27 stretch in December

I think it was JVG but he pointed out that LeBron could make his season with Bronny his farewell season, which theoretically would be very lucrative for a franchise and might be another carrot, beyond whatever on-court contributions he would have.

No, he’ll actually be drafted by and NBA team and get a shot bc it will bring LeBron to that city. If he weren’t LeBron’s son you wouldn’t hear his name and NBA draft in the same sentence. He’s doing his kid an enormous favor as any father would.

So apparently Shaquille O'Neal, that merry prankster he, had this super funny way of hazing rookies, well at least to Gary Payton.

“We used to always play jokes,” Payton said. “Shaq is a jokester. So if one of the rookies would be in the stall, he would take a bucket and use the bathroom in it for about a week. And then all of a sudden, he would pour it on them.”

Let's hope the "use the bathroom in it for about a week" was kind of a euphemism and he actually didn't go to the bathroom in the bucket for a week and then shower it on another human being. Let's also hope that the bucket only had liquid and not solid waste.

My those were the times! I wonder if anyone tried that now, would they be immediately arrested or would someone have to press charges first?

Amazing.

Source.

BTW, Payton and O'Neal were teammates on the 2005-06 and 2006-07 Heat teams. The rookies in 2005-06 were: Gerald Fitch (KY), Wayne Simien, and Matt Walsh. Dorrell Wright had one year of experience. The rookies in 2006-07 were: Robert Hite (MIA) and Chris Quinn (Notre Dame). Earl Barron had 1 year of experience.

Also teammates on the famous 2003-2004 Lakers team that fizzled in the Finals against the Pistons.

Karl Gauss told his kids to avoid doing math because there was no way they would ever be better than him. He was probably right but still.

They didn’t fizzle, they ran into a buzzsaw defense at the height of the defensive the era of the NBA.
They got their asses kicked by a remarkably balanced starting 5 but they were massive favorites coming into the series:

“Count the oddsmakers in Las Vegas among those expecting the Lakers to win their fourth title in five years. A $100 bet on the underdog Pistons would return about $600 if they win the series, while a gambler would have to wager about $800 for a $100 return on the Lakers.”

The quality of the ass kicking has reshaped the view of the series. You are 100000% correct. No one gave Detroit a shot.

I got roundly mocked here back then for observing that the ECF winner was going to romp to the title because neither the Lakers nor T’wolves could stand up to the buzzsaw defenses of both squads. I had $500 on Detroit, $250 to win and $250 to win in six. Had Jackson not believed his own press clippings by then the Lakers might have won one more and made me some serious coin.

Also, the idiotic basketball press aside, the ‘04 Lakers didn’t fizzle, the ‘04 Pistons and Pacers were two all time great defenses at the apex of the game’s defensive era. It’s akin to saying the ‘08 Lakers fizzled for running into another juggernaut squad.

Yeah the money line for that finals only shows that the general public didn't know how good that Detroit team was.

To be fair, it really was an anomaly team, not having one of those top NBA ever players. But that defense was absurd, and that team tied for second in point differential (LAL were 7th).
