The Lakers and Warriors have been running with that regular season means nothing concept for a little too long this year.
I don't even know who I should be rooting for, watching this. It'd be great if the Warriors could have to fight it out in the play-ins, but they seem to have turned it on and will cruise to a top-6 finish. The Lakers are flopping around a bit but if they put it together, their stars together can at this point make a run and be a threat. Plus they're the Lakers. Seeing them finish 13th would be great but I doubt that's happening. Do I want the Dubs rematch? Do I want to not face them, since they match up with us arguably better than any other team in the league? Do I just want them to pull each other down, like a drowning man? Really conflicted, watching this.

Seriously, how did the Celtics lose to this Warriors team? The Warriors remind me of the 2019-21 Patriots the past two seasons with their trajectory

I think his ankle may be in worse shape than we’ve been led to believe.
Yup. First he sits late in the 4th against OKC, then he sits 2 days later, now 2 days after that? They are running out of time to make up ground, these are games they need to give themselves the best chance to win. Either he's legitimately injured, or he's checking out.

The nice thing about it is that both teams really need to win most of their games going forward to make the play in games, let alone to have a shot at getting to the 6 seed. Them playing each other tonight means one will lose, so I'm choosing to enjoy that.

I wonder if it had anything to do with Steph playing and Horford and Timelord being out?

I’m excited for the Mavs fans falling for this honeymoon period to talk themselves into thinking Kyrie just needed the right situation.

I mean he has 6 assists to 6 different players so of course they are excited.

The Nets' new jersey logo makes it look like Joe Tsai is pinching pennies by hiring a 10-year-old to re-do it in comic sans.

I'm not a uniform guy, but that one jumped out to me as bad.
Embarrassingly bad, thank you.

Josh Hart with a huge debut for NY off the bench, he reminds me a little of Darrell Walker.

Kyrie was very good in his first game with Luka. De’Aaron Fox was even better scoring 14 of the Kings 19 OT points. Kings win in OT.

Cleveland didn’t make any moves at the deadline and have been quietly flying under the radar all year. This is a really good defensive team, Mitchell is having a career year, and they’re 4.5 back of the C’s for the 1 seed.

67 points in 64 combined for the reunited Nova duo of Brunson (40) and Hart (27) tonight, breaking a three year/9 game losing streak to the Nets.

If NY can get Mitchell Robinson back and keep everyone else healthy, they look like a tougher out with Hart than they have been since the #2 seed Melo/Chandler/JR Smith team.

Two of the best shot creators in the league, and they can't get a shot off. As hot as Kyrie was, I don't like Luka deferring to Kyrie in that moment.

The Lakers don't have anybody that can guard elite guards, which is a problem in the West. Dame is absolutely pummeling them.

They got Rubio back and he was a key to their defense last season before he got hurt. He should help quite a bit. https://www.cleveland.com/cavs/2023/02/without-scoring-a-point-ricky-rubio-the-x-factor-in-cavs-come-from-behind-win-over-bulls.html?outputType=amp

Cavs are currently #2 in the NBA in net rating, a smidge behind the Cs, and significantly ahead of anyone else.

1. BOS +6.3
2. CLE +5.9
3. DEN +4.4
4. PHI +4.0
5. MEM +3.9

(Everyone else is under is under +3.0 — testament to this season's impressive parity).

Karl Malone was announced as a judge for the slam dunk contest. Internet isn’t having it. Looks like he’s about to get canceled over the whole getting a 13 year old pregnant and not paying child support thing.

Yeah, he’s annoying, but I think getting rid of Wall and Jackson is a big addition by subtraction for you guys. Good game tonight.

2nd unit actually looked like a basketball team.

I remembered deep in the 4th the answer to morris is right on the damn bench, covington. He should take all his minutes.

That team looks scary at full strength.

The fact that Lue can select from a Mook or Covington depending on needs/matchup/health etc illustrates their depth.

76ers lead Cavs 31-10 with 5 minutes left in first quarter. They look better than Boston’s second unit.

And the cavs almost came all the way back. Mobley smoked a great little hook at the rim that wouldve made it a 2 point game with under a minute to go. They outscored Philly 74-55 in the second half.

Philly played defense for 24 minutes, apparently its limit for regular season games.

Watching the Bucks / Bulls game. Baffles me how the Celtics have have struggled against the Bulls
the Bulls have really let go of the rope... 6 straight losses...

Doubt they make the play-in game this season &
Orlando/Indiana will probably be better than the Bulls by next season.

The Suns have 22 regular season games to integrate Durant. Will be really interesting to see what seed they end up in, currently 5th (4.5 GB of 2nd, 9.5 GB of 1st)

And they owe their top-4 protected pick to Orlando, from the Vucevic trade (which already landed Franz to the Magic).

Which makes it make sense to tank all the way, I suppose.

Just looking at the West, teams 6-13. All 8 teams in their last 10 either 5-5 (like GS) or 4-6 (like LAL). Only losing or winning streak more than a game is Dallas' 3. So, basically, no move being made by anyone.

Amazing GS is in that mix given that if road record determined draft order, they'd be easily in the bottom 4.

The Knicks are the reverse, tied for second best road record in the league with MIL (behind only BOS), but 24th out of 30 in home record.

Blazers and Kings set to tip off in under 7 hours but Portland hasn’t taken off yet due to bad weather.
