reggie miller has been my least favorite national announcer for a full decade
It’s a true testament to his ability that in a field where the competition includes luminaries like Mark Jackson and Chris Webber that Reggie stands out for how unbelievably awful he is. It’s a tour de force really

I think it's far more that DAL fell in love with lazy 3s, they had a very "Celtics with a big lead" quarter where they settled for not that good 3s instead of doing what got them the lead
I think that’s right. Dallas was in the bonus with more than half the quarter left and then kept settling for threes. Some of them were good looks, but they’ve gone cold.

This fact is compounded by the fact that his incessant talking is also drowning out a decent color man in SVG.

I think Luka brings this back. Sure is fun to watch a game without my blood pressure sky rocketing.

Guarding the dubs too wears you down. So much motion all game has to weaken those legs.

I know this isn’t the old Warriors, but I’d take Dallas in the Finals every day of the week.
The old guys have enough juice, and control, to play about 24 minutes of impressive game. And the younguns can play with authority for about that much time.
So could the celts match that when GSW is. on, and build big leads when GSW is not? I think so.

In a way GSW seems like a better Miami?

Fun game. Luka matched up on defense against Curry doesn’t seem fair.

I routinely slander Kerr for STILL not finding a way to convince the Warriors to take care of the ball, but his ability to have ten guys ready to play every night is impressive. Moses Moody got some decent playing time mid-season and has mostly played in short stints and garbage time until Kerr played him for 9 critical minutes tonight.

Damion Lee was -12 in his time and Moody was +8. Who knows what happens if he'd gone back to DLee. Draymond was -19 -- yeesh.

Honestly if Draymond doesn't get in foul trouble I think GS loses this game.
I said the same in the Ws game thread the moment he went out with 5. Not just cos he was playing poorly and distracting the team by endlessly jawing at the refs, but also cos Loon and Otto were both freaking incredible.

Poole +26
Green -19

You don't see that often from two core rotation guys.

It is pretty amazing.

I was listening to Kirk Goldsberry recount his Spurs experience on the latest Lowe Post, and thinking back to how unbelievably brutal the Western Conference was when Kerr entered the fray as a rookie coach in 2014-15. You had peak Kawhi and the Big 3 Spurs, peak KD/Russ/Ibaka/Steven Adams OKC, peak CP3/Reddick/Blake/DJ Clippers, peak Harden Rockets (later joined by peak CP3), peak Gasol/ZBo/Conley grit and grind Grizz, etc.

Flash forward 7 years: if the Warriors can win two of the next five v. Dallas, Kerr will be 18-0 career in Western Conference playoff series.

This is the first year I've ever experienced since I started watching basketball as a child (2001-ish) that the East is better than the West.

If the Celts win the east and face the Dubs, the third quarter scares the shit out of me. Anecdotally it feels like the Celts worst quarter and the Dubs best.

Celtics would need to win 1-2 in Golden State, though.
Whoever comes out of the East is going to be banged up.
I don't see the same level of punishment happening in the West.

THus: I wonder if GSW will coast through Dallas (like they did in Memphis).
OR will they consider that closing out the WCF quickly will give them a great advantage against whoever stumbles out of the East,. And play tonight with more minutes of purpose

Will they finally toss Draymond tonight? Dude has deserved three techs in the span of a minute.

“Rick Brunson played for my brother with the Knicks. He was a FIXTURE in New York!”
-Stan Van Gundy

Note: Rick Brunson played a grand total of 450 minutes in 68 games over parts of 3 seasons in NY. Fixture.
