It’d be nice, but he’s a Michigan dude that spent his entire career in New York surrounded by players that were eloquent in both English and Spanish. It’s no excuse, but the next time he 100% needs to speak/understand Spanish will be the first.

It’s scary how many he has in common with TB12

5 LCS games now, still no lead changes. Score first and you win.

I am trying to decide if I want to miss tonight's game and go to a concert. I think of Heaney as awful, b/c of his tenure with the NYY, but he's been better with TX, although not great (4.51 ERA). Urquidy has a 5.29 ERA. I would like to see TX win, but if by any chance it's a Houston rout, I'll stop watching and regret my decision. Gosh, I'm immature, eh? Any thoughts, @jon abbey et al? (The concert is both Beethoven and brand-new stuff premiering tonight.)

Go to the show! You can catch highlights of the game, and it likely will a Houston win so best to miss it live.

Live music > watching teams on TV not named Boston in non-deciding games.

HOU may have the upper hand in this one, but you don't want my advice about potentially attending any kind of events post-Covid as my wife and I have become total hermits (no live music for either of us since Feb 2020, possibly never again).

We have only gone to two, chamber music concerts out in the country, with all the windows open and my husband and I masked. If we go tonight, it will be to a very airy (i.e., not crowded) auditorium at Smith College and we will still be masked. It's a bummer, but less so out here, I reckon, than in NYC.
During the height of the pandemic, several of the best summer concert organizations streamed their concerts live and on tape. That was nice.

Have game 4 tickets for the NLCS so hoping the Dbacks can pull one out today or that's going to be pretty unfun.

Last pitch I saw thrown live at a Dbacks playoff game was from Mariano Rivera to Luis Gonzales.

Very nice first inning. The close-up of Schwarber looking back at the home-plate ump is a classic and needs to be saved, if any of you have that skill.

The "AltCast" on TruTV featuring Pedro, Yonder Alonso, and Nestor Cortes has been pretty entertaining so far. Pedro breaking down what Pfaadt is doing and how he can be better is fascinating.

Funny how Suarez slowly paused to look at the ball before tossing to first after stopping the liner. Seems to me pitchers used to do that a lot more in the past than they do now.

Suarez was walking to the dugout after the pop that ended up dropping…And Suarez takes care of business on the next pitch. Suarez is suave in his mound presence.

This is either going to be the quickest game in MLB post season history, or the longest because it takes 27 innings.

Innings is a weird word. Never noticed that before.

Feels like a solo is going to win it. Getting up in a game like this and suddenly the other team starts pressing.

Actually, I bet this ends up 7-5 or something.

Baseball is fucking stupid. What the fuck is this?

I just can't fathom that this is the right move.
