Glad Draymond sitting on Sabonis didn't benefit the Warriors there.

Edit: every play it's like he has to do something dirty..looked like he just swung his arm there at a King after the made FT (didn't make contact)

Moving the Line
Looked like a Warrior was dragging a King down in the backcourt corner, uncalled? Camera cut away from that really fast so I could easily be wrong but that looked like bad optics.

So I'm not insane. Well, at least not on this.

Awesome game, this series is gonna be epic. Super-unclutch shooting at the end for Sac, save for Monk's free throws, but they held on! Light the beam!

No way Sacramento is winning this series.
Golden State looks as good, if not better, than last year. This is a very scary team.
Back at full voltron, it's tough to see anyone beating them. Sigh.
Good thing NBA championships are decided by the first half of the first game of the first series.

I have a feeling people on the east coast haven't watched the Kings much. They are really good. I pick them to win but obviously with no certainty, as the Warriors are ...the Warriors. But I think the Kings are the better team.

Sabonis is like 1-15 from 3 feet or closer
That the Kings won with Sabonis missing bunny after bunny is a really good sign for Sac.

This game is making me unhappily remember how much hacking and fouling Draymond gets away with.
Pretty sure Green was laying on top of Sabonis, not letting him get down court
You forget that Draymond's s*** doesn't stink according to NBA refs. There's one set of rules for the rest of the league, and one set for Draymond. Totally absurd.

Yeah.. there's almost no doubt that Draymond did something to take Sabonis to the ground on the rebound.. and landed on top of him. He got up for a second and then intentionally sat back down on Sabonis so he couldn't get up.. Then got back up and ran up court.

If you start watching Draymond during the game off the ball.. you start to see all of the stuff he does.. grabbing arms, bumping into people in the back right before they try to go up for a rebound, etc. etc. Just really tired of his act and that he's allowed to get away with it year after year.

The league really should not be giving Draymond a free pass on all his bullshit
Lol we have these same conversations every post-season, it's maddening. I cannot wait for him to retire cause the NBA is unfortunately never, ever gonna call him on his bullshit. I hate it.

He was a Bull for a long time, and I'm in Chicago. It probably started back then. I would love to have him on my team.
if he were on the Celtics I would definitely root for him…..but other than that, I will despise him. He’s a very good player but I can’t respect the amount of ref grifting is involved in his game. He also kind of seems like an aggro tool off the court

I think he has a terrific work ethic and is generally intolerant of teammates who he feels don't work hard enough. Certainly verges on dickish, but I always have felt that it came from a place of wanting to get better and win more.
As I said, I know it's controversial, but it's a personal flaw of mine, and I own up to it.

I’m not even commenting on the off the court stuff, which as you mentioned, border on team cancer.

Strictly on court, I hate watching him. He’s in the Lowry/Embiid/Harden category for me…way, way too much embellishing and flopping. I just don’t enjoy watching that type of basketball

I replayed that incident a couple of times. Dray boxed out Sabonis, who pushed on him, and they both fell. It also looked innocent when they got up. Not a dirty play by Green (this time).

What a game. Sacto fans are great. They deserved the win. Scintillating shotmaking by Fox to answer the Splash Bros.

I guess I just love the way he takes the ball hard to the hole and finishes through contact. I think he's incredible at it.
Personally, I don't think he's anything like Lowry or Harden, for sure, but clearly YMMV. I think he's a lot more like Marcus.

Anyway, we're probably done here.

There is going to be a lot of Draymond dialogue this off-season. He's a free agent and the Warriors probably can't keep him. He can bring a lot of intangibles to a team that is looking to win, but I'm not sure his tangibles are good enough to pay him what he wants.

I think Warriors fans generally love Draymond, but I don't think there will be massive upset if the Dubs let him walk.

The last time the Knicks and Kings won a playoff game on the same day was April 2001.
Same day is getting too obscure.... it's also the last time the Knicks and Kings won a playoff game in the same season. (had a chance in the 03-04 season but the Knicks got swept in round 1)

As this board's foremost supporter of De'Aaron Fox, even I cannot believe how incredible he has been this season. For someone who looked like they were regressing into an above-average, but flawed player, to a killer in crunch time and the leader of a ragtag group of misfits that might do serious damage in the playoffs, in just a handful of months.

Conventional wisdom was that SAC was a good matchup for GSW but after watching first game, I wonder if GSW would have preferred any of the other top 4 teams. For two reasons: (1) SAC is not afraid to play at GSW's pace and in fact wants to play faster and (2) GSW has guys who can defend wings like JT and JB but doesn't really have anyone who can defend the quickness of Fox / Monk. Thought it was telling that they put Wiggins on Fox at the end.

Really fun game. Though if I hear Jones or Doris use the word "relentless" one more time, I may have to watch the game with the sound off. :)
