Gauff’s reaction to the protest is pretty mature…

...”I wasn’t pissed at the protesters. I know the stadium was because it just interrupted entertainment. I always speak about preaching what you feel and what you believe in. It was done in a peaceful way, so I can’t get too mad at it.

“Obviously, I don’t want it to happen when I’m winning up 6-4 1-0 and I wanted the momentum to keep going. But hey, if that’s what they felt they needed to do to get their voices heard, I can’t really get upset at it.”

Yeah, it was just like an odd rain delay in the end, I don't think it affected the momentum of the match even though it was a 49 minute break. Thankfully it happened a game into the second set and not near the end of the first set, which was crazy on its own (Gauff up 5-1, Muchova won 3 straight games including two breaks before Coco broke back at love at 5-4 to take the set).

I'm the biggest Djokovic fan here, but my sense is this weekend may be where Alcaraz definitively passes him for good. How they fare in the semis will of course have an impact, but my guess is that Shelton will push Novak more this afternoon than Medvedev will push Alcaraz tonight, and then Alcaraz will win pretty easily on Sunday. I hope I'm wrong because their previous two matches have been alltime classics, but that's what my gut says.

I think the Djoker/Shelton score has a chance to be closer than Alcaraz/Med, but I still think Alcaraz will have to work harder for his win than Djokovic will. You may still be right about Sunday, but I dont think today will play a factor. I doubt sundays final is as epic as Wimbledon, but dont think it will be an easy win for either.

Errors galore on both sides. It's added some drama to the match but neither guy is playing all that well.

I haven’t watched tennis in a long time. These guys are insane. Some of those Medvedev shots were amazing.

Holy crap. I know he's still losing in this match, but suddenly Alcaraz is playing pure genius tennis.

On the broadcast they're talking about how the players are being coached on where to serve, etc. I thought you couldn't coach a player during a match?
