What has Cora done to deserve keeping the job beside shepherd a freaking all-star team for one year?

Keeping Cora is going to keep them bad enough to get a fuck ton for veterans at the deadline. Fire him in November.

One of the worst manged games of Alex Cora’s career, and that’s saying something. Having said that, the defense was fatal, just like last year.

Why is Joely on this team? Bernardino is a better option. This was one of the dumbest manage games ever. It pisses me off so much

I'm going home
What a waste.

Get Joely a ticket out of town tonight. Wilyer needs to be in Worcester, he's just not ready.

Feel bad for the pitchers who were lights out tonight.

Tough welcome for Slaten.

Win tomorrow.

Major league debut and had a base open. Holy fuck that’s dumb.
I agree. The fire Cora stuff is silly as are the calls to DFA players after game three of 162. But once they got to 3-1 on Rodriguez it felt like he wasn't going to see anything to hit. Let Polanco beat you.

I should not be this fucking furious after the third game of the season. That was absolutely inexplicable. War and Peace would be shorter than Cora's idiotic fucking decisions in this one fucking game.

If Bloom was still around and it wasn't game three of the season, I'd say using joely in lieu of kenley was some sort of message to the front office, but I think Cora was just as integral of Rodriguez making the team as Breslow.

If kenley was available, Cora should be fired. But I'm also morbidly rooting for Fenway to be empty by early June, so I'm conflicted.

This is such a a poorly run organization, and it's not a recent development despite some out of nowhere titles

It should have never been 3 and 1. The one guy you don’t let beat you is up with an open base. Not intentionally walking him at the start is amazingly dumb.

When Breslow actually has the team that he wants on the field at the MLB level, someone other than Alex Cora will be the manager. Until then, enjoy baseball for what is is knowing that this team will probably lose more many more games than it wins while hopefully developing some young players.

Its not the playoffs. Let the kid try to nibble and compete. There is no way you develop guys to face Rodriguez without letting them try. Again its game three. But once you get 3-1 you aren't supposed to put one right down the zone. It felt like Slaten yolo'd it.

Otherwise that AB was handled ok by the kid - he didn't give him anything fat until that inexplicable last one.

Man, if only there was a way we could have improved the team over the last few months, we might be in better shape. Oh well!

I feel like Breslow answers to Cora.

Even those of us who think this team has the potential to be pretty good know that they in no way can afford to piss away winnable games because of stupid mental decisions by the manager. You play to win the game. Pitching to J-Rod there was begging for the game to be lost.

The thinking is that you don’t want to load the bases for a nervous guy making his major league debut, as then a walk or a wild pitch and it’s game over.

I figured they were just trying to not give Rodriguez anything to hit, and when it got to 3-1 thought the next pitch would be in the dirt. It was not.

I think the kid made a mistake. See my edit above.

Even for a gamethread this outcry is pretty insane. Kenley is hurt, Raffy is hurt, what do you want Cora to do?
