Wow, me neither. I also didn’t realize / forgot Brett played only 117 games the year he hit .390.
Yeah I was just thinking tonight how huge this would have been a couple weeks ago. But hopefully they keep chipping away and make things interesting with these 2 guys back to playing like themselves. Houck looked great in his rehab start too at AAA so hopefully he can help soon too.
The only things I worry about with him are that low-outside blind spot he has, and whether his body frame can hold up as a starting catcher for the entire season
Wong / McGuire seems like a good low cost opinion for another year or two, ideally with more playing time for McGuire.
They’re quietly approaching “team no one wants to face if they sneak in” territory.

At the start of the year, all I wanted was for them to still be playing games that mattered in September. I think we’re on the right track at this moment and, who knows, crazier shit has happened.
If Sale and Paxton can both stay healthy and effective (knock on wood), this team becomes really interesting.
Whitlock supposedly back this weekend too, right?
That’s, like, 4 of our top 10-12 players missing for a big chunk of the season.
