Miami (oh, Miami!)
Would not be surprised. Just pay him to go away. It's quite the albatross around their neck.
That's a lot of pay. Even with the Marlins due to pick up some of the money in the final seasons of his contract. He has 4 years left at $98M (thanks to MIA payments in the last 2 years), plus a $15M team option for his age 38 season.

In all, the Yanks traded for Stanton's age 28-37 years (plus one team option year). A $265M commitment for 9 years - $29.5M per. They gave up 2 years of Starlin Castro for that: 2.8 WAR for MIA. ($22M total).

They've gotten (by b-WAR): 4.4, .4, .6, 3.1, .7, -.1 for: 9 WAR over 6 years.

I think any way you look at it, this is in the inner-circle for one of the worst currently performing contracts in baseball.

Shucks. Going six is still stellar from Crawford.
Now I can go out and read for the aftrnoon, knowing that this is a game the Sox will win—or if this is a game the Sox lose, I sure as hell don't want to watch them do it.

Crawford turning into a legitimate starter is possibly the most surprising thing about this season.

Hard agree here, last season I definitely didn't have Crawford outpitching Cole in a head to head on my bingo card. His transformation to a legit starter this season is impressive

Turner fits in like he’s been here 10 years.
Really hope we can keep him

lot of nice young pieces on this team, and turner seems like a player younger guys can really learn from. Love his approach at the plate, and he’s strong in the field too. Checks a ton of boxes

Justin Turner getting a lot of love on the NESN broadcast. Well-deserved love. What an asset he has been in all facets. Great veteran presence.

To me, the main thing about this game, apart from the Red Sox success on the mound and at bat, is how poorly Cole pitched. It's sort of weird. I think he only had fastballs working today, and the guys knew what to expect.

Crawford at 82 pitches. If Judge had not gotten him and he had a blank slate going, does Cora still pull him?

I like Kutter. Why must he be considered a back end of rotation/long man in bullpen guy? Bello, Houck and Crawford could be the bulk of a good rotation for the next 3-4 years. How do you show you can go deep into games unless you're allowed to?

DOB just said Kutter's career ERA vs the MFY is 1.89. Meanwhile the Yankees can see Schreiber well. Two hard hit balls. Tread lightly AC!

They are managing his workload to protect his arm - he isn’t quite used to pitching this many innings in one season.
