Alex Cora has spent the better part of the last two seasons managing the bullpen as if winning is rarely realistically within reach when the deficit is bigger than a single run and I don’t know if it’s more frustrating for him to be right or wrong about that.
I missed all the horrific defense tonight but I wonder whether it’s a feature with this team after they play a stretch of good ball, really grinding shit out, to lose their focus on defense.

I'm going to lose my mind the next time an effective starter is pulled too early and we lose because of it.

Bad pitching, bad defense, bad hitting with RISP.
Dugie has been ok, but our corners will need to OPS .900 to make up for their defense. Devers, Casas, Yoshida have bronze gloves/arms.
Oh and the Astros uniforms are awful. They need to go exclusively with the 1986 sunset uniforms that are fire, at least at home.

Chris Murphy is being optioned for Houck, which was more and more obvious as this game went on. I think Llovera stays.
