Reyes has three balls in play tonight all on like middle-middle pitches and he’s popped them all up. Like he has crossed himself up or something. Nobody’s perfect I guess.

2-13 risp

Brutal night for the offense. They let a bad pitcher off the hook countless times.

About as bad a 5ip 3er pitching performance as you’ll see. Thought this guy was mostly fucking terrible all night no idea where the ball was going and throwing meat all night and our best hitter singlehandedly kept him in the game.

I guess if Devers' drive is four feet to the left this game looks pretty different, but... yeah.

it’s so brutal. Who does that appeal to?

i mean, to whom does that appeal?
I don’t listen to WEEI all the time so I don’t get the Fleming experience often, but when I do, I really wish they could clone Castiglione.

Question, has Standford boy ever said “heretofore” or “forthwith” in a broadcast? I’d be surprised if he HASN’T

Question - while I have seen him pitch, I maybe wasn't paying attention when he was warming up until tonight. Does Murphy always throw in the pen without a hat or was that just tonight?

Here’s my Will Fleming impression:

“The 2-1… and that’s a BASE HIT UP THE MIDDLE. THIS ONE’S GONNA BE CLOSE. THE SECOND BASEMAN HAS IT. HE THROWS TO FIRST.. aAAANND… Wow. Wow! You know, we talk about how important it is for a first baseman to do the little things, and that play really illustrates that point.”

Meanwhile I’m screaming at my fucking radio, “JUST TELL ME IF HE WAS SAFE OR OUT, ASSHOLE!”
Yep he is a verbose Mo-Fo that’s for sure

I do not know the answer but I was just thinking the other day about how one of the reasons to love baseball is that every single player is different in how they play and approach the game and often in very weird and unexplainable ways and if that is true of Murphy, that is but one of infinite examples.

Millar talking about raffy like he’s brooks robinson

nesn needs to make Merloni the permanent color guy. Use the money saved by not offering brown mustard anymore

I mean, I understand why umps are terrible, they are trying to see all sides of the plate while some big fucker covered in gear is crouching right in his way. Humans are bad choices for this job!

This is the most frustrating game of the year. So far. Plenty of time to turn it around and make it the opposite.

Outside of little league, I cannot recall the last time I saw a pitcher warming up without a hat. But again, maybe its more common than I thought. But he was doing so before coming in during the bottom of the fourth.

I completely agree that this sort of stuff is what makes the sport so fascinating.

Fleming sucks... we have to endure the nepotism of him not even being close to his brother and deal with his verbose dimwit making up his call of a game we can see on TV that doesn't match crap.

I enjoy Sean pocking him when they are in the booth together. It sucks that Sean also makes Joe better.

Between DOB and this knob we are screwed as fans.

To contrast, I want to be able to hear the Giants TV and radio at the same time when I dial up the SF games. That should be the goal for the John, Tom and whatever the Sam does leadership.
