He wasn't *that* sharp, but 7IP for Bello with a gassed pen is pretty huge; even with 11 runs.

Yep, monstrous performance.

Also, my first post today, and after hearing more about the 9th last night, it sounds like Pivetta wasn't even supposed to come into the game, but when they were looking out to the pen after Kenley got hurt he just got up and ran to the mound to take over.

I would like to apologize to everyone for the way I behaved after he got pulled.

Just got out of a meeting* to see the score. Hooray baseball! Who wants to give me the cliff notes?

Bello’s performance was really good considering he clearly didn’t have his best command or even really close to it.

They needed length today and he gutted out 7 innings. Even more impressive he somehow gave up only 1 run.

Bielak is gonna throw 150 pitches today. Sacrificial lamb.

Still want to see Altuve pitch!

If the lead is 8 or more in the 9th, I wonder if the Astors consider going with a position player at pitcher.

He sure can hit. Looking like a good trade for him last year.
Up to 112 pitches. Finally took him out. They play these assholes after this weekend so I’m all for draining every last fucking arm out of their pen and hoping they are still not caught up when we play them in 4 games.

Makes Dougie look expendable.
It’s what a deep farm system will get you. Verdugo is probably a 4/60 type (total spitball). But you may not need a Baseball America Top 50 to replace those types. You do that every year and that creates tremendous flexibility.

Who was the bearded player NESN showed sitting in the dugout at the beginning of this inning? I had it muted b/c of Millar and was cleaning up the kitchen and couldn't unmute in time.
