I’m torn this morning. The Sox have last place locked up, but a better draft position is there for the taking. But I do so want to see whether @absintheofmalaise selects Near Wild Heaven or Endgame…

I am bummed another season is coming to an end...I truly enjoy having Red Sox baseball to watch nearly every day for six months. Let's get a couple more Ws before turning out the lights on 2023.

I can live with Aprils and Mays (and to some extent Junes) hovering around .500, if it feels like the team is getting better over time. I will be honest, even with the July run, it never really felt like that was happening with this team. This season has been incredibly disappointing to me, and I still think they ended up being less than the sum of their parts.
I will be listening on radio tonight because I will be on the road, and will be watching tomorrow. I will be depressed through most of it.
July wound up being a tease, and one that may have cost Bloom his job. If they had another bad month, he's selling for sure.
I think the comment about the team being less than the sum of its parts is spot on. That has probably been true of a number of teams that have talent but were terrible at several of the fundamentals (like baserunning and defense) important for success.
