Pivetta..... Just F'in win damnit. I've got 3 more days in TX in this heat before heading up to New England for two weeks. I'd be pretty super to keep starting game threads every morning until I get back here. When just about every other SoSH'er was looking to trade you, release you, kick you or punch you, I still believed in you. We've all seen your potential. You turn into Pedro for 5-7 games then turn back into some hideous ineffective turd on a sidewalk. Now, to be realistic, I know you're not Pedro... but I really believe you're closer to him than that mentioned "turd". The bullpen needs you to go deep into this game. They need you to kick ass honestly. I have faith. Don't break my heart guy... I'm not saying it's your last chance but it's getting close.

I was so impressed last night with MOST of the bullpen, that I am totally convinced now that they're mostly pretty good and unfortunately have been overused, mostly owing to the weakness of the starting rotation. Everyone played hard last night to win, and I hope they're not too tired today.
Geaux. Sox!

No Rafaela after a great game at the plate really annoys me, especially considering that Abreu cost the Sox 3 runs yesterday. Rafaela is a top 5 prospect in our system while Abreu doesn't crack the top 20, so why is Abreu getting more starts than Rafaela?

Good lineup. Cora and the Sox have obviously not given up. I was out working in the yard this morning and thinking we need to rip off about 9 straight games, to match Ted's number. Then, it should be a level playing field again.

Perhaps, and please bear with me here, because Glasnow is a RHP.

For eleven innings the Red Sox hung tough,
but, alas, in the end, it wasn’t enough.
(Walk-off wins in the Trop have always been rough.)
What happens now? Do we give up in a huff,
or do we pick ourselves back up by the scruff
of our necks to bounce back and start acting gruff
toward the doubters who deem our dreams to be fluff?
We can play out the string, give up, and just scuff
through September, trying our best not to muff
things up too badly, or play spoilers and snuff
out somebody’s chances, or we can rebuff
claims that we’re finished. There is still time to puff
our chests out with pride and to fight fist-to-cuff
to make the playoffs and call everyone’s bluff.

Was it ever established if that ball Abreu muffed hit the ceiling? Or did he just lose it in the lily white roof?

Wow, what a crowd in Tampa for the finale of this series; today must be "come dressed as an empty blue seat and get in for free" day.

The ST stadium in Port Charlotte is much nicer. Well maybe not after Ian but certainly before

And fits the appropriate number of people

Not feeling good about this iteration of Story against Glasnow's breaking stuff

looks like 1st triple and just 10th XBH Glasnow has given up in more than 150 AB v. righties, who have a crazily low .488 OPS against him. Nice work by Wong.
