What was it Middlebrooks said about Pivetta having the team on his back or something like that in the first inning?
Yep. I'm very skeptical of their run advantage methodology. I think it way overstates the runs. But yeah, missed calls occurred more often in high lev situations that favored the Red Sox when netting it all out, according to that.
I know unearned runs is a stat, but it would be interesting to try to quantify the number of extra pitches caused by below replacement level defense -- not just errors but some metric that judged how the defense puts pressure on the pitching staff. There probably is.
Pivetta. But it was a poor feed to him but still should have been handled by anyone over the age of 8

Managers don't have any ability to change anything. Once these guys hit the bigs, they're finished products.
He's been pretty versatile and picked up a lot of innings on a team that needed someone to pick up a lot of innings.
