Michigan probably 1
Washington probably 2
FSU probably 3
Texas or Alabama or Georgia 4 (nothing would surprise me)
I could also see tOsu 4 and switch Wash and Mich

I expect these shady fucks to leave us out but Coach Mike getting an undefeated ACC belt with wins @neutral field vs LSU @Clemson @Swamp beating Miami and the Dukies and the D beating a top 15 team by themselves with even the special teams messing up.

What an achievement

You got outran by a 300 lb guy. Sure.
I root for the SOSH real ones. Give me FSU and TX in the playoff and I don't think it's really undeserved.

I think the committee should decide based on money — which 4 teams would sell the most advertising. That seems fair.

Either that or use mimes. Each team sends its best mime to Indy for a mime-off.

Clear answer is:
Michigan
Washington
Army
Airforce

Then if anyone complains ask them why they hate our troops

California. Duh.
If you leave out the 13-0 team then why bother playing the games?

Leave out the SEC. Other conferences have gotten screwed due to a top team losing the conference title game plenty in the past. Give Texas the tiebreak over Bama along with the 3 undefeated teams.

Or have the cheerleaders play flag football to decide it.

Vegas seems to think FSU is getting boned. DK odds for Texas and Bama to get in:

Bama -250
Texas -400

Not only shouldn't the non-Travis FSU team be top 4, I'd put them at #8 currently.

Michigan
Washington
Texas
Alabama

Georgia
Oregon
Ohio St.
Florida St.

With Travis, I'd have them at 3.

Here's my thoughts.

Texas deserves to be in. They are one of the four best teams in the country as of right now. Period.

But....

Alabama is in and anyone that thinks the SEC champ that just knocked off the team going for a 3 peat natty, get out of here. Bama is in.

Michigan and Washington in.

And this might be the controversial postion. Florida state better fucking be in. Last I checked, these assholes that put together a 4 team playoff cannot leave out an undefeated champ from a major conference. I dont give a fuck if they have to bring out Dom Deloise to play QB, this is a team ranking and they keep fucking winning. Only Michigan and Washington deserve their spots as much as Florida State.

I've been fighting for an 8+ team playoff for 20 years. I went to PC, so I have no rooting interest, I've wanted chaos forever, because fuck the Bowls, the best teams should get in, and 4 leaves out the best teams. If the NFL took 4 playoff teams, the Snow Bowl doesn't happen.

Man, I think it would be totally lame if FSU gets excluded right now. They played a reasonably strong schedule and ran the table. They were #4 and won their conference title, stymiying a prolific offense under extremely adverse circumstances. I am a fan, but I was very impressed by their D tonight. They have earned their shot.
If they get denied, it makes me wonder what the playoff is supposed to represent. Anyway, one opinion.

The committe can say whatever they want publicly about how they make decisions. The reality is they can make up anything they want to justify the rankings, and usually do. Plus, money talks. The tv networks and influential people behind the scenes will have their “suggestions” to committe members. No way the SEC gets kept out.

I think so too. The cleanest story is 5 conference champs, 3 are undefeated and the other 2 played head to head and the road team won so no excuses.

I don’t expect that to be the way they go.

honestly im fine w/ basically any 2 of uga-bama-texas-fsu, there's no actual rules in place here. should uga really be punished b/c they lost to bama, should bama really be punished cuz they lost to another playoff team, should fsu be punished for having its qb get hurt, should tex be punished for losing to a t10 team at a neutral site while also having the best win of the bunch.

Heather Dinich could teach a class on the CFP with how much time she spends around the committee, so I think her predictions carry some weight. She thinks Texas will be #3 and Alabama #4.

The 718
Iowa actually got the ball in Michigan territory due to a bad punt bounce. But they immediately fumbled it away.

And I’ve seen more talented offenses in middle school games than this ACC disaster.
Game no one has talked about- the Sun Belt title game - App State and Troy- TV was randomly on so I background watched while straightening up -Troy won convincingly and put up big points- RB was unstoppable

That was Kimani Vidal, 26 carries for 233 (that’s 9.0 ypc) 5 tds. TD runs of 36 and 49 yds. Just unreal.

I think this is the only defensible choice. Anything else involves reputational bias.
“SEC champ must go in” is BS

DK now has FSU -400 to make playoffs and Bama +115. UT is -330.

That would suggest Bama is on the outs.

Ironically, the old systems would’ve worked better this year. Both the BCS and the traditional bowl system would’ve given us #1 Michigan against #2 Washington for the national championship (in the BCS game, or in the Rose Bowl in the old days). A few FSU fans would complain, but everyone else would admit the outcome was fair.

If they’re trying to pick the four best teams, FSU is obviously the odd one out, but it’s tough to leave an undefeated P5 team out, however bad the ACC was this year. I think the ugly win at Auburn makes Bama the odd one out, despite running the table in the nation’s strongest conference.
