The great CU resurgence begins
I am actively rooting against Deion Sanders, although it makes me feel bad because that hurts the players. I think that program can come apart at the seams in mid October since they won’t win more than 2 or 3 games and I suspect large defections amid blowout losses. When a coach treats players like commodities, it goes both ways when things go off the rails when the coach throws you under the bus.

Edit: also TCU lost basically its entire offense and 4 best defensive players this past offseason.

Mr. Brightside indeed!

I think we pine for a purity of college sports that never was. It’s a giant commercial enterprise, and players have a shot at more of the pie now. Either way, Deion is a brand and has built a deep and talented coaching staff. I think you’re going to be disappointed.

Haha well played.

CU has a few talented players for sure - Hunter and the RB room in particular. I should say I have a strong dislike for what Deion did to the high school kids in Dallas at Prime Prep - I can’t forgive him for it. It was shameful and he has no remorse whatsoever.

If they do well, I won’t be mad - I’ll be happy for the players.

I'm not up to speed on the Prime Prep stuff, but I have a lot of respect for Deion jumping into coaching. He could easily be cashing ESPN or NFL Network checks as a talking head, and he's putting himself in a position where success is very much not guaranteed. It requires a ton of work. He did a a legitimately good job at Jackson State and has taken a really tough job with Colorado. He's got significant skin in the game with his son's career.

I don't like everything he's done and I think the way he spoke to those incumbent players was unnecessary and disrespectful. But on the whole, I'm rooting for him. College football is more interesting with Deion in the house.

Refs in this TCU game are atrocious. Dear lord.

And the new clock rules are making games even more disjointed with so many more commercials. It’s kinda hard to watch.

That’s a totally fair position, and the prep stuff was bad. I was camping with a former teacher there last weekend that had a similar viewpoint.
It’s hard to overstate just how irrelevant CU has been for over a decade, though. I’m jacked and pumped for the program. And love or hate him, you’ll get to see all the best and worst of Prime in real time on YouTube…

CU’s defense is really, really bad. TCU’s is too (and was last year but even worse this year) but yikes. Their d-line is smaller than most Texas 5A D2 and larger ones.

Edit: and Briles the moron lets TCU give the ball way again within the red zone. Horrible game calling.

Those of us who don’t follow high school football, what did he do?

So YoutubeTV has this extremely awesome quad box feature where they show 4 games at the same time. You can pick the game that has audio and switch it around. It is VERY cool and makes me even more excited for The Sunday Ticket.

That said, the quad box makes it abundantly clear college football is 99.98% commercials and 0.02% gameplay. It's crazy, 3 of the screens are in commercial almost the entire time.

That is all football. 3 hours long and 15-20 minutes of action.
