That was a good use of VAR but I have real doubts the referee gives it in the pre-VAR era. He can't possibly have been sure enough without a safety net.

That can’t be good. If it is leg injury that required urgent hospital visit, start thinking open fx or something bad in the knee causing vascular compromise
nothing official but a few twitter accounts saying badly broken tibia

I know he's been a part of US soccer forever, but JP Dellacamera is like nails on a chalkboard for me. I hate listening to him.

He’s absolutely terrible. I can’t stand listening to him. Talks too much and has no feel for the game.

INCREDIBLE game-tying goal for Ecuador in stoppage time! Looked like they had no shot.

Now Valencia's boner would have been a winner. But I guess it's not over yet.

Including that PK miss, they showed xG a few minutes ago as ARG 0.79, ECU 1.62. So the fair thing is for them to at least get a crack on equal terms in AET.

So Canada-Venezuela at 9EDT

I really don’t know what to think of this Canadian side. They’ve been solid defensively with Crepeau being their best player. Under Herdman it was all about emotion and belief - which was what was needed. Tactics ? Not so much.

Marsch , on the other hand has been preaching defensive resiliency and a much more physical approach. The defence is there (with a huge caveat) but the offence has been pretty dismal - especially given they’ve played so many minutes 11-10. I’d argue that that has removed any ability to evaluate Marsh’s tenure.

Sadly Tajon Buchanan broke his leg in training so he’s out for months but everyone else is healthy.

Basically they have to hang in there for 60 minutes and then go from there. I really hope they are proactive and try to take the game to Venezuela. Fonzie, Larin and David have to show their quality. I’m cautiously not pessimistic

This is a match Canada can absolutely win, especially with how they're playing. Venezuela is a pretty weak QF opponent. Win tonight and any result from the rest of it is total gravy.

Against my better instincts I'll be cheering for our northern neighbors. Shit I think I'll cheer for Panama too, it's not their fault Tim Weah lost his mind (okay maybe a little). But yeah, Concacaf solidarity I guess.
