How many times has anyone seen 8 minutes of stoppage time? I've seen 100 or more games that should have been but this is the first.. And that wasn't a legit handball in almost as many occasions..
Yeah, anything more than 7 minutes is officially "Fergie Time" and you have to pay him a royalty per minute.

I know we don't have a whole lot of depth, but with this being the 3rd game in 8 days I'm surprised there's been no rotation at all, especially since we have an older squad.

Eh, they're gonna get killed by whomever they face if they get out of the group, so "rest" isn't needed; it's just 4 games.

First time in his tenure Klinsmann has used the same starting Xi three straight games.
Apparently Bradley, Arena, and Sampson never used the same lineup three games in a row, either. So say some media types, anyway.

Yes, I wish the subs against Costa Rica had come earlier since the game was already won.

EDIT: actually it's really rare:

We're deep into the "he can't do anything right" phase when "uses the same lineup three times" is no longer a wish expressed after yet-another shitty friendly performance and is now a sort of criticism.

Is this also three games in a row with no one playing (ridiculously) out of position?

Yeah, I didn't mean it as a criticism, just an observation. We do have to look out for dead legs, but I'll take the consistency. The US did get an extra day of rest between the first and second games, which hopefully helps.

Not sure about your last question because it depends on the definition of totally out of position...but while I think there are problems we have certainly seen worse.

I'm surprised the kid in front of Zardes for the anthem wasn't lying on the ground three feet away with a confused look on his face.

Lucky lucky. When Cameron steps up, someone (Jones, Bradley) needs to fall back. Brooks did well and the Para guy had tunnel vision.

Terrible from FJ there and Bradley needed to cover for Cameron.

Cameron got carried forward fighting for 50/50 balls, which didn't bother me. The rest of the team went to sleep though - need to keep structural balance to prevent breaks like that.

This has been difficult thus far for the US. Midfield getting bypassed quite a bit and all of these set pieces have been terrifying. I think I say this in every US thread now but I can't believe Guzan is our best keeper. He makes me so so so nervous

Ya. Shows FJs inexperience at FB. As a LM he has a safety net to attempt the aggressive breakup. When Cameron makes the run and no Midfield drops in he needs to recognize it's him and Brooks and containment / slowing them down is play instead of a hero challenge.

Kilns knows they just need a draw, right?

I like pressing football, but not the way the US is playing it today.

Jones doesn't seem to have his fountain of youth legs tonight. I'd be really tempted to bring on an actual DM and put Bradley forward because they're clearly going to run at our back 4 tonight and I don't see Bradley breaking up enough stuff

Early observation 1/3 of the way into this game, JJ has been basically invisible compared to his prominent role v CR. Seems to be the cog of this team.
