#DFG: Canceling the Noise

Is there any level of suspension that you would advise Tom to accept?

Patriots to dock a 7th rounder in 2016.

Goodell to become the new Commissioner of the CFL.

Wells to shave off his mustache and never to grow one back.

Win. Win. Win.

Hey screw you.  The CFL rules and we definitely don't need that idiot coming in and ruining it.

We're dealing with people who couldn't be bothered to read the Wells Report in the first place. Releasing numbers demonstrating significant drops of PSI in cold weather is a perfectly fine PR resolution.
If people can't be bothered to read the (relevant sections of the) Wells Report, why are they going to care about a bunch of semi-related numbers taken months after? You think they're going to go back and reference a document they never looked at in the first place and think, "Huh, I guess science could have explained it!"?

So, options:

(a) Kraft backs down.  Accepts punishment while maintaining innocence "for the good of the league."  Board explodes.

(b) Kraft backs down.  Accepts punishment.  Board explodes.

(c) Kraft doubles down.  Full on fight coming.  Board explodes.

(d) Kraft makes statement maintaining innocence, but no resolution.  We keep talking.

(e) Kraft announces framework reached for compromise, based on conversations with Goodell.  Board explodes.

Could be any of the above, though likely not (e) since I'd think Goodell is on podium for that.

Other options I've missed?

(F) Board Explodes

Like literally explodes and SOSH is no more.

ESPN puts up side by side figures of the pregame measurements and the halftime and I think it makes a fine point, yes, because it won't be buried in the middle of a 236 page PDF. The point of doing it weekly is to keep it simple.

Because you may realize that no amount of time, money, and energy spent fighting it will get you anywhere.  It won't reduce the suspensions, the fines, the penalty.  It won't get you back any draft picks.  And it won't sway public opinion.  So it would be a lot of time, money, and energy spent for no gain.  So you accept your losses and move on.
In fairness I think if you go back to the team's original statement after the Wells report issued that they were prepared to take their medicine and move on, and in all likelihood because they had assurances from the Artless Roger that this wouldn't happen. So I think part of the dam breaking here is that the league has sandbagged Kraft and the Patriots multiple times here. There's a way back home for Goodell, I'm pretty sure he's too stupid to use it. And when it comes time for his contract renewal the votes just aren't going to be there for him.

Why would ESPN bother? Why would anyone care?
