We've come to the Acknowledgements portion of our program. Today we're thanking the Dopes (@AlNipper49 and company) who keep this site running, without whom we wouldn't be here. Say some nice things to them below.

Our tribute to LynnRice75 and his poetry paid off.
The Red Sox and their bats managed to stave off
The Rangers. it wasn’t even that tough.
Thought some late game heroics were needed,
Rob Refsnyder’s timely at-bat meant the Sox succeeded.

The dopes give us rope even when we mope
Though sometimes to themselves they might opine
"I wish *that* poster would use it like Carradine"

I'd appreciate it if the server maintenance happened at any other time than "The Sox just blew their narrow lead and I can't bitch about it on SoSh for 5 minutes".

Game 152
A series in Texas. That’s how you begin it!
It’s been a rough year no matter how you spin it,
but, as of today, we’re technically still in it.
It's a long shot, but stay with me for a minute.
If I sound a bit foolish, please bear and grin it.
Each season’s a cat: There’s lots of ways to skin it.
(That’s a bulletin board quote. Someone should pin it!)
The schedule’s still got games, so we can’t trash bin it.
There’s a new one tonight. Let’s go out and win it!

Thanks for the "Don't Suck" mantra. I've applied it elsewhere. Or tired to. Or told others to.

Did this post suck? Feels kinda sucky.

And thanks for not sucking!

No Rafaela or Abreu, gross.

I will admit Bobby had a really good day of contact last night... he's officially blocked here, but if he could get any type of trade value, that'd be best for both parties.

Yoshida has a .643 OPS since the ASB and 7 walks in 209 PAs. If that doesn't scream out "clean up hitter," I'm not sure what would.

My thought exactly when looking at this lineup. At least one of them should be in every lineup.

At the ASB his OPS was .874. As late as 7/25 it was .888. All downhill from there though.
Yeah, picking the ASB was arbitrary, but I think whatever dividing line you pick it's clear he hasn't been the same hitter.

The walks number to me is really significant. If you divide his season exactly in half -- first 65 games and next 65 games -- he has 26 BBs in the first half and 8 in the second. I think that's a good proxy for approach at the plate. He seemed really good early in the year at going with the pitch, but now he seems to have less plate discipline. Of course, it could also be that the league has started to figure him out.

Cora said the other day that Bobby would start a game in RF before the season ends.

I think Abreu might still be out because he made love to the center field wall in Toronto

Shout out to the Daily Dopes; @absintheofmalaise and @Sprowl

Minimal sacrifices of lurkers were made this year. Maybe they just gave up early.

We got a few games left. We shall enjoy them as this is the end of the 2024 Red Sox. I for one will miss them for a few days.
