As someone who has gone through the same type of job action ... Clayton was laid off, not fired.Per The Sporting News, John Clayton is fired at ESPN.
His employment was terminated. I don't know whether he was laid off or fired. As someone who has gone through the same type of job action ... Clayton was laid off, not fired.
Thank God you clarified that you don't know what happened. His employment was terminated. I don't know whether he was laid off or fired.
Which is great timing since that's the start of the moratorium/legal tampering period for free agency.Woj, per Richard Deitsch, will be starting at ESPN on July 1st.
They need to bring back more stuff like this. I enjoyed it, especially in the dog days of summer sports. This drone racing on ESPN is kind of neat.
the DRL is actually going to air all of its matches on ESPNThey need to bring back more stuff like this. I enjoyed it, especially in the dog days of summer sports.
Probably the first solid move ESPN has made in years, and I think that's safe to say that's not hyperbole.Woj and Bobby Marks are coming over to ESPN per the official release this morning. I wonder what that means for Shams and Chris Mannix's futures.
My good friend from elementary school Nick Horbaczewski runs that. Local kid done good. They need to bring back more stuff like this. I enjoyed it, especially in the dog days of summer sports.
Brian works for free. He's on LeBron's payroll.Someone needs to explain how ESPN purged dozens and yet kept the several chins of Brian Windhorst.
This is some extraordinary but unfortunately very rare work by the four-letter ...

When you can shoot this high, it indicts you for usually aiming so low.
Oh, I'm guessing there is a lawsuit coming against the university for not telling the students who lived in that room what happened, for not moving them to a different room, and against the coaches and University for enabling the campus drug dealer because of his football skills. None of them commented on events for the article for a good reason. These joke ass coaches at a D3 school bringing in a criminal so they can get their glory going 5-4 should be in prison right next to the kidnapper dopes.
That is a shame, I really like him on baseball as well as college basketball broadcasts. Is this because of the cutbacks or is this his decision?Dan Schulman, the least objectionable announcer on Sunday Night Baseball, stepping down at the end of the season
His decision. He'll still be doing espn work. That is a shame, I really like him on baseball as well as college basketball broadcasts. Is this because of the cutbacks or is this his decision?
https://www.si.com/tech-media/2017/07/03/dan-shulman-sunday-night-baseball-espnn an interview with SI on Monday afternoon, Shulman said he is getting remarried next year and wanted a schedule to better fit being at home more in Toronto. He repeated several times during the interview that this was entirely his decision and not prompted by ESPN management.
“I certainly have mixed emotions about it but at the end of the day I chose to strike a better balance between my personal life and professional life,” Shulman said. “I’m grateful to ESPN for giving me this opportunity, and equally grateful that they agreed to let me reconfigure my situation in order to make this work. It was not an easy choice. I have been thinking about it for months. I still want to accomplish certain things professionally but getting the balance in my personal life was the important thing. The older we get I think we sometimes reprioritize and I guess I’m doing that.”
No, he will look like a fraud because his whole persona is "the guy who is first to break the news" and he got scooped by a colleague without any reputation for it.Woj will look like a fraud for reporting what the agent said?
Just how big of an idiot are you?
Saying that is a bad look for you, as it might cause some people to start talking about how you accuse other posters of causing the very shit they claim to not want to hear about. You literally just did that to 'Woj' though.
1) Woj AFAIK isn't on this boardYou literally just did that to 'Woj' though.
I should not have called you an idiot.1) Woj AFAIK isn't on this board
2) Did I just engage in a personal attack, or did I explain my opinion?
It's my opinion that E5 Yaz made a lazy personal attack instead of actually rebutting or discussing what he disagreed with. Yes, Woj quoted the agent, but that wasn't my point - it was that he was not only scooped (and I don't think anyone here disputes his reputation is that he breaks news in the NBA), he ended up being less informed than his (subordinate) colleagues and was for hours.
Thanks for continuing to be an ass and proving my point.I should not have called you an idiot.
It was your post that was idiotic
You can read the future!Saying that is a bad look for you, as it might cause some people to start talking about how you accuse other posters of causing the very shit they claim to not want to hear about.
1) That is a statement but I am unsure how it relates to this discussion.1) Woj AFAIK isn't on this board

You think THATS bad?ESPN is very predictable and LaVar Ball plays them expertly. Top of ESPN.com is Lonzo bounces back. Followed by a LaVar interview. Followed by a Lonzo highlight. Finally a Magic Johnson interview on Ball. Not a mention of Tatum (or even Fultz who is also playing on their air tonight). ESPN gonna ESPN for the Lakers.
It's a circular issue. People for whatever reason like to read/talk about the Ball family, so ESPN covers it. Of course, of ESPN and the MSM didn't give LaVar an outlet to spew his bullshit in the first place, LaVar wouldn't be a household name that people would want to read about.ESPN is very predictable and LaVar Ball plays them expertly. No... The local Laker radio affiliate here in LA is ESPN radio (TV is Spectrum's station) .... If I want to hear Lavar and his bluster I will turn into that. If I want to hear about the Kings/Dodgers/Clippers etc, I will turn into their primary radio station.... Problem is they will be forced to talk about it now.. Which annoys me.... and we know Lavar can't shut up even if you pay him to. So its going to be fun to hear Lavar talk 24/7 when there are OTHER sports teams in LA that are playingComplaining about local sports radio talking about local sports seems dumb.
Chris Berman just introduced the necrology segment of the ESPYs. Mostly talking about John Saunders, but you could tell that he had other things on his mind as well.He was due to retire to Maui but his retirement was hastened by the tragic death of his wife in an auto accident a few months ago and he hasn't been heard from since.
So, ESPN has finally turned to the dark arts to bring back viewers.Chris Berman just introduced the necrology segment of the ESPYs. Mostly talking about John Saunders, but you could tell that he had other things on his mind as well.
