Russia is missing their top 3 midfielders and has dudes playing out of position to fill those holes. I'm not surprised they've been bossed about.

Oh Rooney.

That ball shouldn't have been dummied through though.

Not bad, but definitely not that good, that should have been saved, he just put it right in the middle and the keeper misplayed it.

Rooney for an actual CM would be a sensible sub. Sterling hasn't offered anything for 30 minutes but I don't know if England have a better option if they intend to defend the lead

Yeah, if the kick taker gets it up and down over that wall you just tip your cap. But Dier put it where he wasn't.

Daft of Russia's #8 to touch that ball in case he had been offside but he was actually onside anyway. What a silly goal. England gonna England

I'll hand it to Russia; they were banged up but their defense worked hard for 90 minutes dealing with the speedy England attackers and capitalized in extra time on one of their only real chances of the game. That's a pretty gutty win.

Roy fucked that up. England sat back to play on the counter but he didn't put on anybody that could punish Russia, with both Sturridge and Vardy sitting on the bench. I can understand Wilshere for Rooney to get fresher legs in midfield. Milner for Sterling was just bizarre. Lallana and Milner as wingers, surrounding a gassed Kane, is just awful if you are playing on the counter.

Well, Smalling, Sterling, and second-half Rooney were the weakest links out there.
Sterling was poor in my opinion. Rooney is a poor choice at MF for more than about 50-55 minutes and the choice of Harry Kane kicking corners was flat out dumb.

I'm not saying that a team with Noble, Antonio and Carroll would have won.
I'm just saying......

RUS18 might actually be a bigger disaster than QATAR2022. Probably depends on whether Putin decides to disappear the Ultras before the tournament or not.

You make an excellent point. However, I think that Vladimir watches the news and saw the coverage of what the ultras did, and they'll all be on trains to Siberia by the end of 2017 at the latest.

It's appropriate that France 2016 is the site of the Frere Xhaka Derby.
Holy shit, if there's a tabloid cover in Albania, or Jim Belushi's house, this should be in 72 point font on its cover.

Bravo, sir.
