Just to interject, the Yankees have the worst bullpen they've had in literally decades and two of their three back end guys have not pitched in a game in weeks (Wandy/Holmes). And there are three innings to go.

To temper everyone's enthusiasm, it is still the Cleveland Guardians offense.

Enough with your reverse jinxes; I'm applying reverse jujutsu. This series is over. Hell, this post-season is over. I'm calling it now:

Yanks sweep Cleveland by an aggregate score of 14-1
Yanks sweep Houston by an aggregate score of 20-0
Yanks sweep LA by an aggregate score of 25-1 (the one Dodger run on a Mookie dinger in game four when it's way too late :p)

That little shimmy Bader does when he camps under a flyball.
It's actually one of the coolest baseball things I have seen in years, he does it on fly balls with runners on to line himself up perfectly with wherever his throw will need to go, and I guess he does it with no runners on because that's just how he does it now.

I’ll tell you whose fault this is. Greg Bird. Cleveland was up 2-0 in ‘17 and Bird hit a solo HR in a 1-0 win in Game 3. Cleveland has lost five straight to NY in the playoffs ever since.

Off the then absolutely dominant Andrew Miller no less, lefty on lefty late in the game.

Didi also gets credit for homering twice off ace Kluber in the deciding game 5 of that series, that looked like Cleveland’s year but NY stole the series even after Girardi botched game 2 (he was gone a few weeks later).

Actually, this worked out perfectly for me… I was going to miss the first few innings tonight because of a meeting. However, tomorrow afternoon is wide open. That said, Cleveland must have set a record for rain outs this year and it continues even in playoff games on the road.

This presumably removes the chance that Shane Bieber could start a potential Game #5 on short rest, but I suppose he could still be available for a short stint out of the pen. I'd be good with that since starting a pitcher on short rest so seldom works… and even if it did, would make him unavailable well into the ALCS anyway. They already have the advantage of being able to skip the back of the rotation and go to Quantrill on regular rest in Game #4, so a Game #5 would likely mean everyone but Quantrill and McKenzie would be available… start Civale on a very short leash with Plesac and Morris available for bulk innings.

Blizzard of 78 is getting his wish

I hope this doesn’t translate to the upcoming winter

Rehak is calling his first playoff game behind the plate, but if he keeps up this level of performance... I'm sure he's in line for dozens more.

Cleveland needs to add a right-handed bat this winter. Owen Miller is a pretty good utility player. He's not a 1B/DH you want in the lineup 2 out of 3 games. They aren't used to the parade of lefties they're facing in the postseason.

Gabriel Arias is currently the only right-handed bat that might see a bigger role next year, but that would be at the expense of the right-handed Rosario. The other AAA bats (Valera, Jones and the already arrived Brennan) are lefties. Fortunately, Gimenez hits them, but Ramirez has not this year.

The Guardians are putting up a truly historic effort with the bats.

They have played 37 innings and have scored 4 runs over 3+ games. And have won twice.

MLB Gamecast is about 10 seconds ahead of the game. I guess that's usually the case for broadcast editing delays, but I almost never have the game I'm watching up on there.
