Raffy missing an awful lot of middle FB's he should be hitting. Can't help but think it's because he overswings constantly.
Trying to park everything. Really thought he was going to be hitting .300 with the shift out of the picture. Hell he’s done it before.
Finally one of them swung at a ball out of the zone and didn't foul it off. This lineup is such a grind.
Is it possible that the sound we hear played after a K on TV is different than the one if you are in the ballpark? Tonight it sounds like a fog horn, when I was there yesterday for the Dodgers game it was a much different sound.
The Red Sox seem to think that they are all home run hitters and with some exceptions, namely Masa, JT and Casas, that's all they try to do. I am losing faith in Cora, b/c I think they need a talking-to, at the very least.
Unfucking believable. All that work to get the big strike out and then he fucking uncorks that.
Youkilis would make a good coach, in my opinion. (Edit: I was thinking of what he said about the catcher's pose used by Wong.)
It's easier, though, to talk to us about what he's seeing than it is to talk to the players about what they're doing
Sale's slider was terrible today. They got 5 of their 7 hits off it, and either it found too much plate or it was so uncompetitive that they didn't come close to swinging. Wong needs to field those -- especially the second -- but the first one was just a terrible noncompetitive pitch anyway.
Not ideal defense but the only results there felt like walk or rocket anyway. Guy can’t spot pitches for shit anymore and the bite his stuff has lost really costs him.
